OK, so I was not going to post anything in this thread, because frankly I'd say I'm not passible, and I haven't even started HRT or anything. My passible days sans anything where like 30 years ago!
But... I play bass in a classic rock cover band, and every year we play at a club for Halloween and get dressed up. That was last night. This year I decided to reprise my usual type of Halloween costume from years past, i.e., dressing as a girl. I decided to go out on a limb and wear a Japanese sailor school uniform (being that I like Anime and Japanese culture in general). I kept what I was wearing a surprise from the rest of the band. They tease me enough for wearing nail polish and my blue hair. lol But they have gotten used to it. No one even noticed my plucked eyebrows recently, or at least they didn't say anything. Same for my hairless arms, but my ex-wife didn't notice that either until I pointed it out to her. Now she knows the whole story, but I'll save that for another thread.
So.. I ended up starting to get ready
way too late, and my nail polish (pink bubble gum with a glitter top coat) took longer than expected, so while I was doing my makeup my ride was waiting downstairs for me! Talk about stress... Plus I have bad eyesight, and even with my magnifying mirror, I couldn't see what I was doing without my glasses. Trying to do your eyes with glasses perched on the end of your nose doesn't work! But even rushing it came out rather well (hard to tell in the photo below). I also forgot my mascara and neglected to bring my makeup bag with me to touchups! Grrrrrrr. And I needed a touchup when I got done unloading our van.
I have to say, that the whole evening was a wonderful experience and ego booster! Not only did I not freak out my bandmates, but the keyboard player told his girlfriend, and me, that I should dress this way all the time! He thought I looked really good. His girlfriend thought so too. She knows I'm trans, but no one else in the band does.
After we started playing two women were dancing in the front and pointing at me and talking to each other. But that was going on all night... Between songs one leans over to me and said "we thought you were a girl but then we heard you talk!" I said "I am a girl" and she said "really?!?" and looked confused lol. Later they were talking to me and saying how well I carried myself and all my mannerisms were just like a girl. Now here's the thing, I wasn't doing anything different! I was just dressed differently. They were commenting on my bracelets and makeup and asked if I got help, and I said, no I did it all myself. Then I said "do you like my nails?" and turned my hand towards them, and one of them said "did you say it that way that to sound like a woman? Because that's what a woman would say it". I said no... That's just me being me. They were really going on about my whole image and all. I found the whole thing amusing and it made me feel good.
Then a really cute girl said she liked my costume and said at first she thought I was a girl. Then she said "I had to loo twice and three times at you... for a guy in a dress you look really good and have nice legs!"
This continued on all evening. The barmaids didn't know who I was, nor did some other people who come to see the band when I was sitting at a table with them. One of the band member's girlfriend and her daughter, both who know me really well didn't recognize me and thought they got a girl bass player! The daughter posed in a few photos with me. Her mom said "you make a really pretty girl, I hope you don't mind me saying that!" lol. Mind it??

A number of people I don't know wanted to have photos taken with me.
So many people didn't know it was me until I spoke. The keyboard players girlfriend also said I looked really good dressed that way, and also said she hoped that was okay to say. Funny reaction people have; do I tell the guy dressed like a girl that she's pretty? lol But people did say I was pretty and I thanked them. A guy who comes to see the band all the time also said he didn't think it was me and that my mannerisms were dead on for a girl when I was playing. I heard that so many times along with me having nice legs. Same thing with another couple that comes to see us play every time.
I have to say it was just the most wonderful feeling.

Now I want to do it again real soon! When I was getting ready I was thinking "wow you make a bad looking woman", and getting really stressed out about my appearance, but after I got dressed I was pretty damn cute, even with my not very lady like nose and chicken lips. lol My eight year old daughter saw me, sans wig and all, and said "Oh my God daddy, you look like a women!" I think it freaked her out a little.
It was a real confidence booster. I realize it was a costume party, so expectations are different, but the fact that people who have seen me many times before had no idea who I was gives me hope. lol Now if only I had nicer lips...
Here's a
bad bathroom selfie right after I put my wig on:

And another no so great full length shot with my Hello Kitty flu mask.

I only wore that for part of the first set, and then it got too hot.
