I wanted to announce that I have finally found a doctor that wants to help. She prescribed me my hormones and blocker without the need of a recommendation letter from a psychiatrist.

Im on day 10 of HRT and already feeling a calm mentally.

I'd like to post her information on here for anyone in the west texas area to use but ill need to ask her first. This area is extremely difficult to find anyone that isnt playing gatekeeper.

Anyway.... yea cant wait to see whats going to happen next. :( unfortunately work says I hate to cut my hair super short.
I know who I am, and no one is going to tell me otherwise anymore.

I work for a security company (gun belt/gun and all) and most everyone there is from the military so its writtwn into the policy that I have to maintain a short hair cut... ive been holding off waiting to see if they say anything first.

Congrats on the hrt!

About the hair, how short does it have to be?  Could you get a pixie cut or does it have to be shaven?

Rachel

Can you wear it up and under your hat?

I gotta look up the company policies because I'm almost positive it says something to the effect of "Neat, Clean, and well Maintained." However I doubt ill be aloud to have long hair even if there isnt a specific length suggested.
I know who I am, and no one is going to tell me otherwise anymore.

Just a question do girls in the company have to do the same? Reason i ask they can not make you (even if you where a man) do anything different then what they can make a girl do. The old double standard thing just does not fly anymore.

Lots of luck with this one. Seems someone is trying to throw the gender issue around a little.

neat clean and well maintained is not the same as chop it off, just put it up where it isn't a hassle, if they bitch I would start thinking discrimination fricken jerks >:(

Work doesnt know about me and yes there are female officers and yes there is that double standard... ill have to look into it somemore.

So having my hair up or long and kept is going to be suspicious.  Besides living where I do and working where I do, I can be fired for no reason whatsoever (welcome to new mexico the sign said, oh and thanks for living in west texas).

I havent cut it yet but im not sure if its worth keeping if its just going to cause unnecessary attention since I plan to stay at 5his place for as long as I can. ($2500/2wks is hard to say no to)
I know who I am, and no one is going to tell me otherwise anymore.

Ummm... I dont think I could pull off a wig sucessfully to make my hair appear shorter? My picture here is with a wig btw my hair comes to the bottom of my eyes/ears normally right now.

I sorta was making it into a game. "Lets see how long it takes before someone twlls me to cut it." But Im not in a position to lose my job just yet.

Thanks! but really I am no-one special just trying to offer help when I can,
making that kind of money I can see the dilemma you are having but surely there is a grey area where there is a compromise to chopping it off. I hate double standards I think its ridiculous guys = short, girls = long as long as it doesn't get sucked into a machine that takes you head wit it. :P
