As it happened: New Zealand's first same-sex weddings
ONE News, August 19, 2013, 5:31AM

12.44pm: ONE News reporter Will Hine said the reception for Natasha's and Melissa's wedding finished around midday today. He said they tossed their bouquets at the same time. But the party won't end there with an after-party planned in central Auckland this afternoon.

12.20pm: It is not a day for celebration for the Conservative Party. Leader Colin Craig said: "We are seeing a legislative and cultural change that New Zealanders didn't support."

12.15pm: Tourism New Zealand CEO Kevin Bowler told ONE News: "Whether it's same-sex or different sex it doesn't matter New Zealand's such a great place for a honeymoon. We get about 40,000 couples a year coming here for their honeymoon they spend $160 million in New Zealand (these are overseas couples) so if we can grow that it's great for New Zealand."

Australian couple Trent Kandler, a teacher, and Paul McCarthy were among tourists to come across to New Zealand to wed today.

"The most essential method which includes all other methods is beholding the mind. The mind is the root from which all things grow. If you can understand the mind, everything else is included !"   :icon_yes:
