Preliminary FFS questions

Hey everyone.  :3

Just a little context about my situation: I'm M2F, in my 20's, and living in socal right now.  I'm about seven months on hormones and about to do my third round of facial laser.  So FFS is a little ways out for me, since I'm def going to finish at least six rounds of facial laser first and give myself enough time to get whatever facial feminization I can out of hormones (I've already noticed a fair bit of change).  So whatever happens probably won't be for another few months, at least.  But I don't pass now, and I think I'm definitely going to need FFS before I can.

I'm just not sure where to even start looking re: FFS.  I'm doing my best to save money, but I'm not really sure what the target cost is.  How much can I expect to spend on FFS?  I'm guessing cost depends on just how much you get done?  I'm not going to get anything from my insurance or any other form of benefits, so this is all going to be out of pocket.  I guess I should just count myself lucky that Kaiser now covers SRS.

And if anybody got it done in socal, who did you go to and how much did it run?  And do you feel satisfied by the results?

Also, should I do it outside of the country?  I might consider it if the price is that much better, and it's still safe and effective.  But I'd prefer something in the US or Canada.  I don't mind driving across the country for this, and my BF will probably freak out if I try to go to Asia or Latin America to get it done.  He's very protective.

Also, who should I go to if I want to figure out what I need in the first place?  I've noticed that we often aren't the best judges of our own appearance.  I've certainly got image issues in spades.  Should I just ask a surgeon who does this kind of work in the area to give me a consult?

I'm also sorry if it seems like I haven't done enough prior research.  Honestly, though, I just get so much better advice here than from random google searches.  So any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

FFS is done by a variety surgeons both here in the US and abroad.  In the US the price has to do with what you are having done.  Each "job" has its own price and some jobs are done together at the same time because it is easier.  Most doctors are more than competant.  Each doctor has their own following consisting of former patients.  In the US the more famous the doctor is the more he will charge.  Out of the country there is a place in Lima, Peru and one in Guadalahara, Mexico.  You should simply do searches for FFS and see what the people say about the doctor, reviews by the ladies that have had it done.  You can find stacks of You Tube videos to.  I am surprised there was no replies that I saw here.

In the end you may wish to visit some places, have an actual consultation done to get a feel as to who seems to be the best for your situation.

Yea - same quesitons.  Except I'm older and probably need more help.  I'm looking at a center in Chicago that specializes in feminization surgery.  Just started.  Keep posting.  I'll share as well.  I need to get it done in December.......

Hi,
There are several well known FFS surgeons in the U.S.

Dr Ousterhout. San Francisco. Very expensive and many people feel he should already be retired and by descending order of cost the following:
Dr Spiegel. Boston
Dr Meltzer. Scottsdale
Dr Zukowski Chicago

I believe Dr Spiegel charges over 40k$ for a full FFS, forehead & orbital recontouring, nose, jaws, chin....


In Latin America you have

Dr Cardenas : Guadaljara, Mexico
Dr Pimentel: Lima, Peru
Dr Di Maggio: Buenos Aires, Argentina

I know a whole bunch of girls who did their surgery with Dr Di Maggio who has an excellent reputation and who charges less than half what the major US surgeons charge. Similar difference in price, or even bigger for Dr's Pimentel and Cardenas and no reason to believe these surgeons are any less competent than their US colleagues.
