Woody Guthrie, when asked to state which religion he was on a form, wrote all. They said he couldn't do that, so he wrote none. All or none pretty much works for me. I was born Jewish, became atheist at age 12, and agnostic a few years later. I've always been spiritual and have visited or practiced various other religions such as pagan, sufi, buddhist, UU, etc. over the years. So I guess I'm an agnostic Jewish pagan buddhist with UU leanings  ;D

So, you dare to belittle us simian worshipers by ignoring our religion, eh?   >:D

* on a happy note, I'm proud to announce that 7.7% of all voters are of the Church of Simian Primates. Soon we will become the predominant religion on these boards at which point, we will disband and all go home.

I changed my vote from satanist to tree hugger. But only because there is no religion for the Force noted. Star Wars has nothing to do with it. The concept of the Force is taken from ancient Mythology. And precedes George Lucas's notion of it by thousands of years. Anyway when studying the Force one must understand its true nature. That being Nature itself. Thats why Yoda moved to Dagobah. Nothing but Nature there. This planet used to be strong in the Force but we are raping her for her resources without putting back what we take. So yeah Im a Tree Hugger and proud of it. Anything that is wild has my blessing. I relate to Satan and the Serpent though. Individuals who have given us a lot of insight and knowledge that keep us aware of our surroundings. Not following a mean God that is above and beyond everything and therefor has no influence over this realm. Sorry but Christians and other God fearing religions have fooled themselves for long enough. You dont know the power of the dark side! Ha Ha

Since God evolved into monkeys, God is closer to trees than ever also. We simian worshipers approve of your tree hugging ways, just don't desecrate the tree while you're hugging it.

I believe God/god is in the six cosmological constants Astronomer Royal Martin Rees described in his book "Just Six Numbers".  If any of the numbers were changed by a fraction, we, or any life for that matter, would not arise to contemplate His/his(her) handiwork.

I believe that God/god is in the interactions of the six 'flavors' of quarks (Quick!  can anybody name the six flavors?)

I believe that God/god is on everybody's side, both individually and collectively -- NO!  He/(s)he isn't on our side, but BY our side.

But I've seen so many people and religions trying to capture and bottle 'God' for their own selfish purposes that I could only choose [other]... preferring to keep my spirituality personal.  I'll continue to enJOY my spiritual relationship with the force of the universe...

P.S., David, a former co-worker (and still friend) of mine is such a trekker that she took the name Katra!

Atheist, though I believe that Jesus was a real and very wise person; just not who the bible makes him out to be.

Kat

my mom is Christian, and my father is Jewish.  They ended up sending me to sunday school at the synagogue but by second grade I decided organized religion wasn't for me.  although cartoons may or may not have influenced that decision.

now I'm kind of an agnostic.

Thanks for reminding me that this thread is here.

God, the Primate, speaking through me, has decreed that you all have a very nice day.

What's the deal? I think someone admitted to being a necrophiliac in another thread, but nobody will admit to being a satanist?  I'd rather hang out with Satan than a corpse any day.
    My Primate God agrees.

Wow, Tink, that's a pretty big move. I know how important your religion has been to you.  Are you okay with that?

I knew you'd come out of the closet one day Tink!

Actually, Cindi, that makes a good question.  How does it feel publicly announcing something of this nature? Is it the same feeling of relief as when we "come out" about our natures? or, is it different, more like saying the Easter Bunny doesn't exist?
  •

Kat

wait, the easter bunny doesn't exist?

Oh no. The Easter bunny does exist. I was just making believe there's no Easter bunny in order to make my point.  I'm sorry, I should have thought of a better example.
