so as of know I have two jobs and the way I am treated at each is completely different
ok Ill start with the job ive had longer will call it job one and job 2 will be the most recent one I got
I have been working a job one for almost 2 years now about a year and a half ago I started to come out to them and during that time I asked them to use my preferred name and correct gender terms most of them did at first but know of lot of them have stopped and every time they talk about it they make it sound like a joke right now I only have four people who still use my actual name now. no matter how much I tell them they still call me by my old name. now my boss at my first job is a hole different story when I came out to her she said she would support me and if I need to talk with her and she would use my preferred name. not once did she. she would treat me like one of the guys and was always busy when I wanted to talk and event though she knows Ive changed my name she still calls me by my old name
ok now job 2 ive only had this job for about 5 months now. I pretty much came out to a few people right a way my boss being one of them I didn't ask any of them to use correct gender terms or my preferred name since my other job couldn't do it so over the month I came out to more and more people.
so after I got my name legally changed I guess my boss that same day went to a few of the supervisor and explained my changing of name and also that I was trans. and told them to let other people know. so the next day when I got to work I had 3 people come up to me and tell me that they support me and I haven't even told them. its been almost 2 weeks since I've changed my name and everyone is using my new name and correct gender terms and I didn't even have to ask
im just so glade for all the support and love I get form this job
