I've had a very complicated day. In the last twenty-four hours, I've fully come out my mom (I'd laid groundwork before), come out to my dad, and had my wife tell her mom and confirm my son's suspicions.
My parents have been wonderful. They've said only the right things and they've asked good questions. My father's only sorry note is that I didn't discuss it years ago. Wow.
My mother-in-law not only accepts my being trans, but supports her daughter in trying to make things work. From what my wife reports, her mother reinforced with her the medical necessity of transition and stressed that she should be supportive of me. Wow.
My son overheard enough last night to have his suspicions confirmed. He had already figured things out. I hinted back in July and, evidently, he got the message. Reportedly, his major sadness is that I didn't have access to HRT before puberty, as that would have made my life easier. Wow.
