Hi everyone. I'm Susan, a 46yo transgendered girl from the UK (born in 1966)
I have been dressing as a girl for as long as I can remember. My formative moment came when I saw Marc Bolan appearing on 'Top of the Pop's -
I remember saying to my mum: 'can i wear your clothes', and she replied 'yes'. I have two older brothers, and I think she liked the idea of having a daughter around the place
I'm currently working as the owner/manager of a pub in the Midlands. My previous jobs have included teaching computing, english and maths to people with learning problems, a cinema usher and the assistant manager in a record shop.
I graduated from College and University with distinctions in television & video production, newspaper & radio journalism (hence the reason this is so long winded *giggle*), media studies and communications. My two major dissertations were: 'The Daleks: How they were a metaphor for the Nazi in WW2, and how they became an English cultural phenomena' and also 'Transvestism in Pop Culture. How it is perceived by the British Media'
I am a H-U-G-E fan of 'Doctor Who'.
* Likes - Guitar based rock music (punk, the Who, the Ramones, Uncle Alice), psychotronic films (horror, sci/fi), classic musicals, Family Guy
* Dislikes - Spiders, breaking fingernails, reality television shows, people who put others down, mustard, garlic, mobile phones in shops ('do you want the white bread or brown??')
* Claim to fame - I have used the same toilet as Dr. Who. (The college that I used to teach at was used as a navy training base during the war, and Jon Pertwee was stationed there.)
* Boring facts
1) I saw Bon Jovi on their second ever british date when they opened up for Kiss
2) I saw Nirvana on their first british tour when they were a support band
3) I saw Status Quo on their last ever date in 1984 *cough*
4) I saw the Who - with Entwhistle, but not Moon
Well, like I say, that is me. I'm the quiet girl in the corner. Feel free to pop over and say 'hi'
