Hrt and body hair?

Hello my dears

I'm currently nearing my 4th month of hormones (well estrogen 4 months, spiro 2 1/2 months) and have yet to see any slight changes in body hair. I was wondering when is body hair expected to slow, thin and fair up because having to shave every night is getting very tedious.

What are your experiences with body hair changes girls?

It took around 2 years to go from bear to female with around 6 or 7 body waxes.

It's been 11 months and I don't notice any difference in my body hair. I started laser on my torso back in July and hope that 6 sessions of that will clear me up pretty well.

I was really, really hoping hormones would have helped me by now but I always heard that for some people that part can take years, if it ever happens at all.

Is it different for each person? I've heard conflicting threads about HRT getting rid of body hair. Luckily I'm not the hairiest person, but still...I'd prefer to not have to shave a different section of my body every darn day...

It should start once you get your T levels in the very low (dead) range and your E levels in a female range. That for me was when things started to turn from the BEAR hair corner. lol

Unfortunately it does vary person to person. The key though is you neeed to get your T levels down to within the normal female range 0.0 to 2.5 maximum and your e Levels up to normal female range. It took me 5 months to get m T to a level under 0.5 and then after having had a full leg wax (now 10 weeks ago) the hair is finally coming again, but is very fine and barely noticeable. Before I would need a full leg wax and my bikini line done every 4 weeks.
On my back I was very hairy. After 6 full back waxes and now nearly 9 months on Oestrogen Theraphy, my hair is barely noticeable. But I am thinking now about Laser.

I have also has 4 Laser treatments on my décolleté and thankfully my black hairs on my nipples and aurealae have gone. As my nipples and breasts are now heading rapidly to a C Cup, I am thankful for this.

But it takes time.

The secret is getting your T level to well below 0.25.

Thanks for advise. I'm going to make sure my T level is very low & E level as high as possible so maybe my body hair will finally diminish. It's just terrible for now. I've only resumed lower levels of HRT for 3 months.

I started HRT at 17 (no blockers in those days) and didn't see much change (good or bad) from then until after SRS at 24. Within 2 years of SRS, ALL my body hair was gone, even arm pit hair!, and I was left with typical female pubic hair, though probably less than most. Facial hair became a bit finer but still required electrolysis eventually - of course I didn't have typical beard growth thanks to the HRT and being blond helped.

I'm not sure exactly when it started for me, because of all the laser removal. But it' like I woke up one day and noticed it all at once. Arm hair is more translucent, the hair down there is softer and way more feminine and less curly and leg hairs come in slower and softer.

I think it really depends on each person. Since I started HRT, I've had fast progress with everything.

With hair specifically, when I went full time I started shaving under my arms, my arms, hands, chest, belly, legs and feet. I was pretty hairy. After about a month of shaving and about four months of HRT, my arms, hands and feet only grow fine blond hairs, rarely ever any course dark hairs but they pop up occasionally.

I couldn't shave my back but it was really hairy before HRT. I can't feel any hair on the portions that I can reach. My wife told me that I only have a couple of small patches left. The hair on my butt is either fine and blond or non-existent. The hair under my arms, on my legs, chest and belly have started growing in more slowly.

I'm talking about dark hair and back / chest hair / long arm hair ... even on my hands!  On top of that, I'd shave it and the next day it would be growing back ... it was pretty bad.

Keep in there --- I will say, after 8 months, most of my body hair had gone away. The first was the butt ... after it was my back hair ... then my arms lightened up and I had no more hair on my hands.  Now, by 11 months, the chest hair is all but gone (very very little) and I shave my legs once a week.

If after a *year* you're not seeing results, you may have to get laser --- but don't get discouraged if you don't see results after 6 months, it really will come.

Oh bum still got abit of waiting to go. Oh well as they say patience is a virtue  . Though it's weird, everything else is the same hair wise except my back which I recently noticed has lost a consider amount (Which is great because shaving the back is very awkward hehe).

For me, about 8-12 months. I got up to the max dose early on, though, about 6 months after starting. Still get body hair, but much lighter and finer than before...typically shave every 3 weeks or so (not necessary for visible hair, just for me because I don't like any body hair)

I'm older and it usually takes longer.  Haven't really seen any changes yet...much to my chagrin.

Mine is oddly enough disappearing in reverse order of how it appeared.  I had recently started growing hair on my back a bit before hrt.  It was gone first.  Nose hairs are no longer a problem.  My chest is not too bad now and more manageable.  My arms have turned lighter but I can't tell if its the effect of the sun or hrt.  The part I hate is my face.  The hairs have lightened up but still not gone after 6 light sheer duet sessions.  I've switched to a dermatologist who does laser and seems more apt to turn up the power than the girls at the dime a dozen laser places so hopefully that works out a bit.

I've actually had some new body hair start to come through which is most distressing for me. I never had hair above my nasel or on my chest, I may of had one or two strands but since starting HRT after 7 months and having a very very low T level of about 0.4, i have started to grow some new dark hair. On other parts of my body the hair is growing back slower and is finer, but i couldn't understand why new body hair was growing. I started to see an Endocronoligist and he explained that Spirolactone, especially in higher doses can have that effect. I'm trying to lower my spiro dose, but given i am on quite a high dose of estradiol but a low dose of progesterone, the T isn't suppressed to the level it needs to be without AA's. I'm hoping that in a few months we can increase my progesterone.

as just about everyone else has said, it must really be different for us all...
i have very 'mediterranean' hair, ridiculously thick and dark, and though my body hair was never as thick as male members of my family
it was still very definitely there, and a problem to even begin my transition....
i noticed a gradual fining-up around eight months, and now, at eleven, my leg hairs are a little thicker, but sparser than those of my girlfriend.
i am finally getting to the point where shaving my legs doesn't cause days of problems after
....still working on the lower-back and navel area though. as soon as i'm done lasering up my face i think i'll have choice but to take it south.

terrible that a natural thing that all people have could make us all feel so terribly dysphoric.
