I like to introduce myself. I am a male that is 29 years old and I have been feeling about being female for a very long time now. I broke down from anxiety and couldnt take it from holding it from everybody that I called a therapist up. The therapy appointment went great but I have a ton of questions of where to begin and when. The biggest thing holding me up is coming out to my family and I need to figure out what to say to them. My mom has said pretty hurtful things in the past, I wishshe could be more accepting.

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

I'm happy to hear you have talked to a therapist, it must feel great to talk to a professional.
Also if talking to your mom does go bad once you do it just remember we, and I, will be here.

yes, I appreaciate that. I felt very nervous waiting for the therapist but once i started talking I got a lot more comfortable. The therapists pretty much implied that I have gender dysphoria already. When I have expressed my feminine side with a few items she founded or when I was wearing them, she gets very angry at me and doesnt want to associate with me. Its really sad because shes close me and i think it puts  a strain on the relationship. I mean shes fine with me and she said two to three times, If i think i am a women I should see a psychologists.

Well don't let her stop you,  the important thing is your happiness, nothing should stop you.
And yes i realize that that is hard to do, I'm still in the closet and fairly new to pursuing information myself.

I wish for the pursuit of your happiness. Its a long journey but I think its well worth it.

Hi Izzy, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 7644. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

As an update I have told my mom that I feel girly and I feel like I am a women in the inside. She took it that I was gay and I told her I wasnt. She told me mom she will find out more about this. She also told me I hope you dont buy any womens clothes either. In a week or two, i will tell her I am seeing a therapists and tell her more about how i feel. I dont want to come out to her all at once to get her angry at me. My therapists suggested i should wear androgynous clothes, womens clothes that look like womens clothes at work. i havent taken it that far yet.

I agree my therapist may have suggested it but i dont think i am ready quite yet until I put all the pieces together. I have yet to find proper womens clothes that fit me well. problem is I have wide shoulders and i feel them tugging me when i lift my arms up.
