Being 5'10" is totally fine. It's uncommon, sure, but it's not an absolute rarity. Women over 6' get by just fine. I'm 5'9" and women who are taller than me come into my store (where I work) all the time.

Most clocking happens because of mannerisms, face, voice, or overall shape. If you have trouble with voice, you can practice it. If you have trouble with mannerisms, you can practice them. If you have trouble with shape, you can focus exercise. If you have trouble with face, well that's more expensive -- and I can feel your pain there if it happens to be an obstacle for you.

Anyhow, to answer your question about men, I'm kind of hybridy in my presentation, but men I know still comment and talk to me about it. With one exception (who is ironically the tallest guy I know), they love tall women and especially long legs -- their one "hang-up" is the woman being taller than them, and even then some of my guy friends seem OK with that. Men have seriously reassured me a lot about height; I think it's nothing to worry about.

I'm 6'1" (and so is my wife for that matter!).  It sure isn't a problem for me in terms of passing (hit on by men a lot, and there's certainly no problem passing around women).  I live in SoCal, before was in Boston, I'm from UK originally and I travel internationally for work a lot, and height has never been an issue.  Apart from being pointed out as a tall woman, which isn't a bad thing.  I guess I had more issues around my height with respect to transition, may be 15 years ago, but any such fears have long evaporated.

Our daughter is heading that way also probably (height of a 6 year old at 3 years), though with two parents north of six feet, it's hardly surprising.

You'll be fine. im 6'1.  And Depending on how you present yourself. They will just think your a sports player,   Most my male friends who dont know my secret think I play basketball or volleyball. I play beach vollyball alot. So it all works out.    But yes some men are afraid of taller women. But hey, its there loss when there face would fit right between our racks lol

6'4" here, 5'10" lets you be a tall woman, we mid-six footers are the ones that push the envelope.  Be confident and flaunt it!! 5'10" is a fantastic height for women!!

Agreed I'm 6'2" as well and before coming out I have been hit on by drunk guys thinking that I was a girl with my hair as long as it was.

Also just chatting amongst guys a lot of them do like tall women.

Please remember that most men have concepts of types in their head.  Types of women that they are attracted to will attract them even when they are a pallbearer at a funeral.  The wiring makes the attraction a connection to the the visuals of the woman and a disconnect to most other things.  So you may be able to think, what is the perfect man for me, and maybe switch it around to how do I attract and keep the perfect man for me? And this is not to be taken as the mysogynist way either.  Figure out what type f man do you want and then how do you get them.  A fishing analolgy might be you don't use bait when you need to use a spoon.

5' 10" is just fine. I would not worry at all. As most mentioned some of the most attractive women are tall with nice legs. However I'm not sure on high heels on top of 5-10?

If you are confident & sexy men will be after you without doubt. Man always want a sexy woman!

I'm 6'6" m'self, and it used to bother me until.. I've seen a woman taller than me. She looked surprisingly normal, just incredibly tall.
Height is not an issue, I actually found it more attractive!

6'4" here, 6' 8" in my favorite (ok, only, but they're still dead sexy and I love them) pair of heels.  I *thought* I would have problems passing because of it, so I've been working extra hard on things I can change... makeup, voice, mannerisms, walking, etc.  When I've got it all together, I don't seem to have any problem.  Still slip with the voice occasionally, but I still get treated like a lady (for the most part).

Much love for all the tall sisters out there... and for the not-so-tall.  Latch on to your inner woman (she's in there, or you wouldn't be posting here!) and do your best.  And, please, find people to go out with.  I don't recommend going solo your first time or three out, but it is important to get out... you will find, I think, the world is much more accepting than you have let yourself believe.

I'm nearly 6'4" and share the same concern.  It is so nice to hear so many chiming in on this topic.  The hardest part about being this tall is banging my head into everything -- when I put heels on I'm even have to duck through door frames.  Fortunately the wigs serve as a nice bumper.  :-)

6'1" here.  I have to duck under a lot of tree branches in summer.  Subconsciously I've always felt shorter and smaller than I am so I don't think about my height too often.  I prefer not to wear high heels though because I just don't feel it's necessary.  My long legs are one of my greatest assets.

I know what you mean about feeling shorter than I am.  A rather odd feeling when I tend to be taller than most people.

I was out with my friends one Saturday night. Mine you I am completely stealth and all my friends are "genetic" women. There was five or six of us. We see this really tall person in very tall heals. My friends where all saying "OMG ->-bleeped-<- tall, wow is that a man haha!" We got up closer and it was a man. But we all knew it was from before just by the body language, like how they walked. I felt bad for this person. In girl world it's all about what they say behind your back because they will always act kind and lovely to your face.

I am 5' 9". I was complaining to one of my friends that I hate being tall. She was like, "shut it woman I wish I was tall and skinny like you". My bf has no problem with my height he loves it. He's 6 ft. I don't wear heals that much but when I do I don't go over a 3 inch. Trust me lads have no issue with it. 5' 10" your grand just don't overdo it with the heals like some trans people do.

If you have height and you like to wear heals and really high ones, you better own it because yes people will do a double take. If you think that people especially women are that naive think again. With only 11 months on HRT you have still some changes to go through. Good ones that is lol.

I know what you mean about feeling shorter than I am.  A rather odd feeling when I tend to be taller than most people.

It was really interesting for me when I realized this.  I discovered that I was subconsciously inflating the size of people relative to myself and being intimidated by that assumed size.  Generally people could be as much as six inches shorter than me and I'd think they were nearly as tall as me.  I also noticed that I would pick out one body feature and completely mis-scale the person based on that one bit.  As a result of all this I tend to be naturally attracted to people that are distinctly smaller in scale compared to me.

Other people have a height meter.  To me everyone is just "shorter than me".  When I meet someone as tall or taller than I am I think that person is gigantic.  It's a very strange phenomenon.

It's a list of 5'10" and taller female celebrities.   Most of them also wear towering high heels.  They're all gorgeous and no one would ever think twice about their height, other than to compliment their long legs.
