I believe those "huggers" were invented by Professor Temple Grandin as a way to sooth cattle during "processing" and have also proven effective for some human maladies as well.

Yes indeed hugs are proven and measurably effective in helping humans and other critters to feel better.

If Susan's ever gets a physical center I would gladly contribute to a hugger for us.

In the meanwhile please accept another warm wrap around hug deposit to the unrestricted account.

Open, out and evolving queer trans person forever with HRT support since March 13, 2013

Yes, Doctor Grandin (there's a great bio pic on Netflix about her by the way) was the first to take a standard press from a cattle chute (designed to calm cattle) and modify it to be used on humans so she could combat her autism.  She couldn't stand to be touched, but she desperately needed to have a means of calming herself when things got to be overwhelming.  With this hugging machine, she was in control and could generate a standard mammalian physical response to help her deal with the world.  Such a wonderful woman. :)

These should be standard issue in mental health and in public recreational facilities, in my opinion, and it is absolutely appropriate that Devlyn's First International Bank of Hugs should have one!   :)

Thanks KAT.
Wish I had a cat of my own, unfortunately dorms don't allow it. My bestie is all depressed because the CD in her building listened to a petition signed by most of his floor to kick her therapy dog out of the dorms, and today is his last day with her dog. I'll pass some hugs on to him.
Sorry if the alternating pronouns are confusing, she prefers them, and ultimately, he'd prefer to be a man in drag rather than female.
Hey, you've reached Lauren's signature! If you have any questions, want to talk, or just need a shoulder to cry on, leave me a message, and I'll get back to you.

Does this bank exchange hug currency?

I'd like to exchange my feeling lonely :-\ hug for a warm, happy :D hug.
  •

Devlyn

We sure do! However, hugs are exchanged on a 1:1 ratio, every time, no exceptions!   :)

Hugs, Devlyn

Unlike Devlyn, here is a coupon for a two for one deal. Two warm hugs for one lonely hug.

We honour coupons!  Hugs, Devlyn

Could I have a quick hug?

Though beautiful, sometimes the world can be a cruel place...
