Drs that use photoshop

Hi, sorry wasn't sure what to title this.

Has anyone been to a FFS that gives you a computer generated picture of what you should like after the surgery?

I know many "vanilla" plastic surgeons do this.

I have emailed Dr. Cardenas and he doesn't do this.

I have a good idea what I need to look like, so going to a doctor that uses this is what I need.

I realize it does not guarantee anything, but having a good idea what I "should" look like it is a good idea to be on the same page with your doctor, you know?

Thanks for any info!

south korean surgeons rely heavily on computer imaging.

there is that "virtual ffs" website from someone who does that. http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/ - I dont think it is really directly connected to a doc who will make you look like that though.

I'd be more than happy to do some photo work for you as an idea

If no one else take you up on this.

I'm totally interested in what you see in my face.
...
That sounds weird.

I was looking at that Virtual FFS site, and was interested (except for the cost), and then I realized; "Wait a freakin' minute! I'm a professional photo retoucher!" D'Oh! I can do my own! So I just did. Made me as giddy as a school girl. lol

The thing is though, you can manipulate a face in photoshop anyway you want. But can the surgeon actually do that? So I stuck to a few common things... I narrowed my jaw a little (which isn't very wide to start with), made my nose narrower, gave myself a lip lift, and removed the nasolabial lines. At last I have an idea what I could possibly look like with some small tweaks. And that put a smile on my face.  ;D

I wouldn't mind you touching up my face! I think it'd be cool!

Well I have that photo of you... so I could. Probably not the best picture to use though.

Just to amuse everyone... lol

I'd be totally happy with this face. I think.  ::) (I look like my mom when she was younger)

Oh yeah... I didn't get too carried away... that took me a whole 5 minutes to do!  But yeah, I have a heavy beard. :(

But it's nice looking at myself and seeing what I feel I should be seeing. And the before is not all that different.

I'l spend some time and paint out the shadow later.

Yeah I wasn't looking for virtual FFS or anything. I know some regular plastic surgeons use special software to give you an idea what they're going for before you commit to anything. Was wondering if any that do FFS  did the same thing.

There is a surgeon here in Seattle who gave me a photoshopped image of me "after" the surgeries. He doesn't specialize in FFS, but he has done a few, he tells me.

At first I was intrigued, but then I realized I was looking at his photoshop skills, not his surgical outcomes. So maybe take any image with a grain of salt; do review the dr's actual before and after pics of real patients.

Of course! It's just I have a good idea what the person inside looks like so I need to make sure my face is getting redone to match.

Did the doctors actual results not live up to his photoshop skills?

Yes they did, but I decided I didn't want someone who is essentially a "part-time FFS" surgeon, even if his technique is good. That, and the $32K price tag is a bit beyond what I'm able to accept.

Thanks, Beth. Could you give me the Dr's name?

Holy guacamole Batman! That's why I'll probably be getting my FFS done in Mexico (unless I hit the lottery. But that would still give me more money for my new wardrobe.) ;)

I'd like to, but since this is my real name, I'm not comfortable doing that. Maybe in an email or PM after you get that ability, ok?

As I understand it, that's in the normal range for American surgeons doing FFS...$25k-$40k.
