Anyone else watching this new series on the CW based on the British series from the 70's, later rerun on Nickelodeon in the early 80's? Seems a bit different than the original series so far, a bit flashier, and quite a bit less controversial so far. I seem to recall vaguely, a storyline from the original that had kids randomly wear blue and green badges, and they eventually started basically acting all bigoted based on whether they were blue or green. I doubt Nickelodeon airs anything even close to that controversial these days. The main premise is that there are people who have a mutation that gives them the powers of teleportation, telecommunication, and telekinesis.

Absolutely sure it was on Nickelodeon in the early 80's, I watched it then when I was a kid. It may have also aired in the mid 90's, I have no idea, wasn't watching Nickelodeon then.

Hmmmm, that's weird because I was watching that same network back then and I don't remember it. The only shows I really remember were "The Third Eye", "You Can't Do That on Television" and most significantly (for me anyway ;D) the pilot episode of "The Get Along Gang."

There was at least one season where The Tomorrow People came on in the time block right before The Third Eye...Children of the Stone.

Yeah, the Third Eye was a bit scarier than the Tomorrow People, though I apparently was the only one who saw it's original run on Nickelodeon, or even this new series Wednesdays at 9PM on the WB...surely it'll be cancelled...

I'm not really sure if it is supposed to be a remake or a continuation. Two of the main characters have the same first names as in the original, but I'm not sure they are supposed to be the same characters.

They did a remake in the 90's, I remember watching it as a young 'un on ITV.

I've got the original series on DVD, the commentaries are hilarious, especially the Peter Davison story, and yes Peter Davison is there joining in the commentary

I remember the original UK series of the early 70s: strange groovy shiny belts - we are not like other people. Hmmmm....I was a big fan aged 10. The current US remake is suitably daft,,and, therefore very good!

I freaking LOVED the original NICK version. Really would like to see those shows again, been a while.

I haven't really taken notice of the newer of classic shows.
