Hey all! I currently work in fast food, as my birth name and as a female. I am in the process of transferring to a store closer to the house I just moved into. I am wondering if there's any legal issues preventing me from putting "Jacob" on my name tag, rather than my birth name?

On your name tag? Why would there be a legal issue? I'm sure lots of people have their nickname on their name tags.
Just ask your boss to have one with Jacob on it.

I just thought I would have to have my birthname, as I serve customers. Thanks, I will have to ask :)

Joe.

I worked in a job dealing with customers all the time and when we were given choices for our name badge (on our induction) they asked if we would like our legal name or a nickname. They said as long as the nickname isn't offensive, there's no problems with it. Not everybody is keen on their birth name. I'm sure it will be fine but check just in case  :)
