I been very ill today, so my dad came to visit me untill I been felling better.
He told me a transwoman who this summer where hit down with a hammer because she is transgender fininally got a answer for the caise.

the guy who hitted her have been charged with hatecrime which is very rare, that means his punishment will be longer, and it means he will be in prison for 13 months...

im like WTF thats nothing, I know we dont have a harsh system but still 13 months for nearly killing a human being? had the jugde not charged it with hatecrime it would had been 6 mounts..

Many are satified with this including the transgenders, and there happy she forgive him for what he have done.
I really don't understand why theres a need to forgive someone who done such things? isnt it more like aplying that it okay?
could someone explain this to me? ???

I'm feeling I'm missing too many parts of this story to totally pass judgment. Are there any news articles related to this? Or can you fill in the blanks as to why he hit her with a hammer and why she forgave him?

He say he hitted her because he asked if she was a man or a woman and she denied to answer and then put a racist slur to him, but acording to withness its been proved they havent even talked together but simplly hitted her out of nowhere.
its the third time he been attacking other people.

she say she forgives him cause she dont want revenge.

I've seen this story myself, and the Danish press give a lot more detail than the English press do.

It's utterly shocking. I thought the legal system in my country was soft, but 13 months for GBH? That's an outrage.

Apparently the victim has lost the use of her left arm, she has trouble speaking, and has impaired short-term memory. All because some loser decided to attack her - from behind - with a hammer. The perpetrator said he felt provoked by her make-up and clothes, so he chased her around before fracturing her skull with a hammer.

Here's the conviction story in the Copenhagen Post.

And here it is in Ekstra Bladet, translated into English (more or less).

And check this out: according to this Ekstra Bladet story, the perp smiled and laughed whilst giving evidence!

What I found quite interesting is that the defendant has not been named in the press... but the victim has been. What's up with that?

Okay sorry I made a mistake 15 months not 13, still very little consider this is a "extra long punishment"

the system is light so that itself dosen't shock me, I had expected 3 years maybe.
What shock me the most is everyone seams to have more pity for the guy not to be punished too hard rather than what happent.
I mean alittle over a year in prison is nothing for nearly killing another human being, and its not his first time making this violance and he dont even have a good reason.

btw. His name got out today but its true mostly he is just named for being a "imigrent" which I also hate as it gives the general imigrations a bad name.

That is horrible what he did. From what little I read, I'm not sure he wouldn't do it again.

I once saw a cable show about a guy who killed his post-op fiancee in the 1960's or 1970's after she told him. I can somewhat understand something like that freaking out a straight guy, having made out with and fell in love with someone, who, in his mind was a guy. He did regret it, possibly because he got life in prison. He was like I could have told him(sic) to get out of the car and never called or spoke to him again and that human being would still be alive and I wouldn't be in prison.

I'm not sure this guy will have even that level of remorse.
