Hey there,

Not been on here much recently, so some of you may not remember me, but today (technically yesterday in England now as it's 2am) I started T. I have my first shot of Nebido. OMG I couldn't stop grinning on the train on the way home.

I had been asking a while back about whether I should stop taking the pill sooner rather than later, and if there was any length of time recommended before starting T after coming off it.

Well I am sooooooo glad (with the help of you guys) that I did.

When I went to see the specialist today I was told my bloods showed raised liver enzymes on all 3 liver function tests. One of which was more than 3 times what it was supposed to be. This meant I wouldn't be able to start today as we needed to at least figure this out, or sort it out to some degree. He thought it might have been from being on the pill for 24 years, and so the fact I stopped it nearly 2 months ago meant I was able to go straight to the lab and get another blood test done. I was able to wait around for 4 hours for the results (there's defo benefits in going private). Things had come down a fair bit, and the 2 low ones were now normal, and the higher had dropped. This meant he was happy that was the cause, so even though one was high, I got my jab there and then.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited, I still can't believe it!

Thanks Devlyn. Yes so excited. After seeing so many people saying they'd just started their hormones, it feels unreal for me to be the one posting that. I don't think it's fully sunk in yet that it's happened.

Oh, don't worry, your next post will probably be "I'm all greasy and sweating like a beast. I've got backne and hair on my toes. Is this normal?"

Hugs, Devlyn

This is great news. Maybe the T will work faster because you're not on the Pill. It can take quite some time for your body to self-regulate, so perhaps you will become hairy and greasy overnight. :P

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! THIS IS AWESOME! Congrats man! It feels good doesn't it? You gotta show us your progress! And I can definitely imagine that grin. See? And I do remember when you started off and were figuring things out. It's so cool to see that you've found yourself Matt.

Hey Nick, thanks. I am sooooooo glad you saw this post. After the chats we've had that I've been following your progress, I was excited to tell you.

Yes it doesn't seem that long ago that I came here, knowing nothing, and really stuck with choosing a name. Everyone here has been so helpful and supportive.

So Nick, how's your progress? I'm dying to hear what changes you've had so far? Hope it's going well for you. I can't even remember how long you've been on T now? Must be what 6 weeks, or getting close to that. I'm sure your sig says but I'm on my phone and posting so can't see it. Will look after posting.

:). :)

Big hugs and gratz from someone else on the right side of the Atlantic!  ;D

I'm on E and spiro going the other way so I wouldn't have any idea how you're feeling, but for me after a couple of days of pills it was as if they lights suddenly came on and I became interested/in charge of my life but has been quite a wild ride, good luck!!  :-*

Oh yes certainly is!!! :D :D :D

It feels weird that I feel 100% normal however. It's like I feel like I should feel something, even if it's just a little off or something. It makes it hard to comprehend that what went in my butt yesterday will actually do such dramatic stuff to my body. I know it will though, just feels kind of hard to believe it.

Hey thanks Kaylee, and congrats with your journey too. I imagine even though the physical side of the feelings we get will be different, the emotional excitement at finally knowing your body is about to start changing in right direction for the first time must be a similar feeling.

Thank you for sharing it with us :D

You will feel the changes with time, not that I can speak from personal experience yet. A big change takes time, but I am sure that having have taken that big step to that, must be awesome. :) Looking forward to hear how it goes for you!

Yes Dalex, your are spot on. I'm assuming you are heading towards this yourself at some point. I'm sure you'll be there before you know it, then you'll know how awesome it feels. :)

Where are you in terms of getting things started?

I am going to, yes. As in terms where I am? I just came out to a few friends, my sisters and my dad, the rest I am not prepared for just yet. My dad seems more excited about all of this then I am, he seems to really want a son, so that is a good thing that he is being very supportive.

The first person I came out to, was my contact person at the hospital and he wants me to speak to a therapist, which I completely understand. And then I will see where it goes from there. If I could just press that magic button, I would not hesitate xD But, it still feels great having come out, and having found this forum led me to having that courage to do so. :)
