Hi....
I'm Kelsie - better late than never. I was born physically ambiguous because I had a protuberance that could have been only a MILLIMETER bigger than the line where doctors decide to assign an ambiguous child as a boy, I had surgery to make me look more like a normal boy - called normalization surgery. Not one, but many apparently over the course of my first 3 yrs. And then when I failed to thrive after reaching adolescence because I didn't have anywhere near enough testosterone, I was given HGH and testosterone shots to force me to grow and into male puberty - I wasn't told why, but I'm assuming it was since I was already raised as a boy I'd better be made to look like one.
I stopped taking the testosterone shots for years and developed brittle bones which easily broke, and a weird seemingly auto-immune thyroid problem. Only then, after breaking a bone and suffering inexplicable weight gain, did I find out I was actually given it to make me look as masculine as I could. After agreeing to take part in a medical study, I found out that my karotype - my actual genes, were not male, but not entirely female either. I was born a mosaic with ambiguous genitalia.
After getting on estrogen preliminarily because I had to treat the physical health problems and I refused more testosterone, which is in itself not the 'normal' therapy for someone like me, I decided to be the person I was born to be and am on a full therapeutic dose and working towards re-assigment.
So......hello

I hate introductions, LOL!!
XO
Kelsie
