Among diverse workers who have experienced such treatment, nearly one in five - 19 per cent - described the discrimination as severe, with another 55 per cent categorizing it as moderate.

The study focused on workers in seven categories - African American, Hispanic, Asian, female, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender; disabled; and mature (aged 50 or older).
