Well,
My Grandson who looks exactly as I did as a child seems to be liking his sisters purses and dresses.. I can't imagine as rare as MTF trans are that he is like me.  He is almost three and is like a carbon copy of me.. its weird.. I see myself when I look at him.. he even has the same timid look.. I was very shy and timid..
So we are talking and she is telling me this and I said I am sure its fine... don't worry.
Then she talked about if he is gay I will just die...
And I said, if he is gay love him as you would any child.. if he was born that way he is as he is.. no one decides to be gay.
Then the religious thing started and turns out she believes god does not make mistakes.
OOPS.. god does not make mistakes...ouch...that hurt.
Seems she thinks if a child of hers ends up gay they could just pray it out of them.
So, it appears that if I come out to her one day .. I may never see the kids again.. they are homophobic and back it up with religion..so sad

Oh dear. Work on her slowly. You may never know unless you try. My immediate family has come around. It has taken years, but they have come to accept my situation. Just look at all the people who are against gay people until they find out their child is gay. Then they eventually accept them. Take comfort in that and try not to worry.

My own children have not managed so well. I shall probably never see my grandchildren. I do get to see pictures of them from time to time but without personal interaction, it is somewhat meaningless.

If God doesn't make mistakes and a child is gay, doesn't that mean that god made the child gay?

Exactly,
That is what I said to her.. but she thinks people become gay because of upbringing.. so I suppose if he ends up gay she will have to blame herself.
