I'm really short... still going through puberty and all that BS but I'm only 5'2.

How tall do you think I'll end up being if my mom is 5'3 and my dad is 6'3.

Also, my brother is 6'1, not sure if that has any relevance.

There's really no way for us to tell you that.

Seconded, but you're probably going to end up closer to your mother's height if you're not doing HRT right now, but it wouldn't do much to increase your height if you've already stopped growing.

But, I'm still in puberty and barely scraping 5', having never gotten a real growth spurt, so I get the concern.

Goddammit

Yes, that was about my reaction as well.  :(

You're currently the same height as me. I finished my original puberty in the 1980s so I'm unlikely to ever get any taller. And you know what? It's OK.

I'd love to be taller. When I was a kid, I was determined to grow to over 6ft tall just by sheer willpower alone. It didn't happen, and I wound up being just slightly taller than my mother. For many years I used my diminutive stature as one of my excuses not to transition.

But when my need to transition became overwhelming, I looked around. Really looked around. And you know what I saw?

There are loads of cisguys around my height, and some who are even shorter. I see guys like that every single day. Their height doesn't stop them from being men; they just have to accept themselves and get on with their day.

Which is exactly what I have to do, too. I can't change my height, so it's a waste of my time to worry about it. Whatever height you end up as is going to be fine.

I agree with the above posts. Not the end of the world, albeit slightly annoying.

On the bright side, you'd probably have a slightly stockier build, making you look more muscular compared to normal females (if you work out). Just try to stay away from baggy clothes. There are tons of way to make yourself look bigger than life through choice of clothes, etc. Look around the internet for tips. You're not the only guy (cis or trans*) around with a lower than average height.

i'm 5'5" but relativley short for a man where I live. Most of the men around this town are 5'8" on up. When people ask me about my height I usually tell them "I'm already dark and handsome if we added tall to that the women would go crazy."  ;D

FTMDiaries is right, there are plenty of cis guys with small builds too. There's nothing all that unusual about it.
Because so many people are self-conscious about this, though, there are elevator shoes and inserts. I might order a pair online at some point.

It's awkward to mention, but this is important: if you're still growing, make extra sure you eat right. That includes enough calories. People hear all the time not to eat too much, but not eating enough is unhealthy too, and can stunt your growth.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'm about the same height - I vary between 5'1" and 5'2" depending on who's measuring me - and my mother's 5'2". I'm not sure on how tall my dad is but I'd guess that he's about the same as yours. I doubt I'll grow any more.

There's really not a way to tell though, my maternal grandparents are similar heights to my parents, and my mother's sister is seriously short. Like, not even up to my shoulder short.

Up until early this summer, I would have said that I was going to be under 5 feet tall for the rest of my life. I'm now between 5'2 and 5'3, and I seem to still have more growth left in me. This was after being told time and time again for years that I was absolutely done with growth. Make sure you get plenty of rest, avoid caffeine, and eat a diet with proper nutrients- meaning that if you do not get much sunlight, taking Vitamin D as a supplement may be a good idea. Make sure to have that and calcium tested, since you need those for skeletal growth and development. Also, try to avoid stress, and don't automatically assume that you're going to stay at your current height forever, since you are still going through puberty.

well that's about my height as well. my physical features have been dominated by genes from my dad so i didn't end up below 5' like mom and her sisters, instead grew as tall as dad's sisters. what worries me is that i'm shorter than a good portion of women. then i'd see a man shorter than me and i make up my mind, and again when i see women taller than me i get worried. the cycle goes on forever.
however, if my height becomes an issue in passing, i could claim i got the height genes from mom, as i'm only an inch or even less shorter than her brothers. wish i grew taller by some miracle.

hmm i can't really say, but probably closer to your moms height.

then again.
my dad is 6'3" and my mom is 5'6" and i ended up 5'10" without hrt. im very in between their heights so you never know ;/

and how does caffeine and what not affect your growth?

i live off coffee, like daily, i can't do mornings, but i'm tall-ish. i also have crappy diet and i don't really go outside :P (bad me i know, but hey, im not overweight or anything i just don't move :P )

is it just hereditary or wht?

I'm about 1,64m (5,38ft I suppose?) and I'm still shorter than my mom. Being 23, I'm way past my first puberty so I guess there's no hope for me anymore. :D However, I think I've grown a little since starting T but there's no significant change in that. I'm still the tiny guy with big mouth. |D

To make it "worse", when I was a little kid, according to my growth rate to that point and so on I was predicted to grow to be around 1,8m (nearly 6ft) and look what happened, or more like what didn't happen...
Not that it bugs me or anything, I'm quite happy with this height.

I think said this a long time ago, in a different thread about this, but in my opinion it is attitude rather than altitude which matters in life.

When you can own every centimetre, fill it with your personality and stand tall... then how tall you can stand becomes less of a concern.

I know it makes some of you guys self-conscious. I'm not going to tell you that it doesn't matter. But what I will say is that some of the most wonderful, outgoing men I have ever met have been over a foot shorter than me. And it was never an issue. To either myself, or anyone else around them. Heck, my CO in the Navy was 5'3", and he was one of the most intimidating men you could ever meet. His height had nothing to do with it. It was how he used it. Like he said: "You don't have to be large to be larger than life."
