Just Ole Me

I have been on anti-androgens for 6 months. No Estrogen yet as I have to wait until the start of the new year for insurance reasons.

This afternoon I felt tenderness and slight pain in my right nipple and only my right nipple. It's dull pain and its behind and centered just beneath my nipple. I would think it is breast budding but I'm only on anti-androgens (Spiro and Finesteride) and its only one nipple/breast.

Could this be budding and if so has anyone else experienced buddying only on AAs and only one side?

Thanks

Kay

I had budding with just herbals...as I understand it, both men and women have T and E....obviously males have more T, and females more E...but the body operates with both, hopefully in the correct ratios. With AA usage ( = less T simulates a higher E in the ratio) one could see some developments.

Imho

And yes, the breasts are independent of each other, I will have an itchy breast on one side, then the other. Yay! :)

Yup, it's certainly possible. After 2 years on anti-androgens and low dose estrogen (just enough to keep me within normal male levels) I'm up to about an A cup. It's not anything horribly impressive, but I have to wear baggy shirts to keep it from being noticeable when I go out in public. I never experienced anything like one breast developing entirely on it's own, but for quite a while my left breast was noticeably bigger, and it's only been recently that they've started to balance out.

Spiro alone can cause breast growth, my doctor explained to me. There's a medical reason which I forget, but I know it can happen.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

No idea on breast development on AA only, but I've literally just spent 3-4 minutes slyly clutching my right boob wishing the pain away while the left side was absolutely fine

Gentle massage, using either fingertips or palm/heel of hand...

Yeah, I've found that helps...it's just a bit difficult to get away with in the office while trying to have an important work related discussion.  Although I'm out and proud at work, it's really not very ladylike to suddenly start massaging your boob while talking with Business Analyst for my current project!!

Yup.

I'm no expert, but from what I understand, testosterone is primarily metabolized into DHT and estrodiol.  Finasteride (not sure about spiro) works by filling the receptors testosterone would normally bind to to form DHT, leaving more free testosterone in the body to be metabolized by aromatase (mostly found in fatty tissue) into estrodiol. Lots of detail can be found on these pages (These were just the first few relevant hits on Google)

If you look on hair loss sites, there are several people complaining about feminizing effects (the horror!) after being on fin or dut for several months. The results sound similar to being on a very low-dose HRT regimen, but most people report no changes.

As for me, I've been taking only fin for about eight months and naturally have very low T levels. In that time I've noticed significantly softer skin, thinning body hair and slight breast development. I imagine the results of a stronger AA like spiro would be faster and more significant.

By the way, all this talk of massages sounds pretty good right about now...

I've been using herbals and noticed that my left breast would get itchy and was bigger that my right but they have recently started to balance out and my right breast has begun to get itchy to so I wouldn't be to worried about it they will balance out in time.

I don't try to hide mine I am very proud of my breast growth .

On high dose e pellets + p injections, I had really low nipple pain and fast growth. Now no pain of any sort at 11 months.

Emily- herbals are really bad for you :( There is no other way to say it. Why not go to an endo at the very least? They have a policy against talking about that stuff here, too.

An excerpt from my endo's website:
QuotePlants produce weak phytoestrogens with generally defeminizing influences that have no role to play in the feminization of transsexuals. Plants like the wild yam do not produce significant feminizing estrogens, although they do produce non-estrogenic plant hormones capable of being converted synthetically into estrogens and progestins.

Seven weeks here on Spiro alone and nothing to report on the boob front.  Not that I was expecting anything.  I think I'm getting really minor muscle pain though due to the fact that I feel like I'm starting to lose some strength.  This makes me imagine (more like wish) that it means something is actually starting.  Once I finish week eight I may have my dosage increased again.  Not sure yet when I get E added.

From my research and what my doctor told me taking testosterone blockers have sought femininizing effects on the body. The nipple is most likely normal due to slight breast growth, I had it when I started and then increased my spiro dose to the maximum. I wouldn't really worry but contact your doctor anyway, it never hurts.

Thanks all!  Both are sore now so must be budding. Well see where his goes but maybe on spiro and fin has got me to Estrogen dominance in my system. Well see.

Hope this means when I start Estradial that it all kicks into overdrive

Ok do now that both hurt, what's can. Expect next and when?  Will I see growth start in a matter of days, weeks or months?

Thanks
