Paper or plastic?

Hello guys and dolls, and welcome to another Nero's Pointless Poll of the Day!

Paper or plastic? - I had to ask this question a zillion times a day through the ages of 16 - 18, working at Kroger.
It was my first and only 'real' job. I paid taxes, union dues, and everything. It was something else.
I can't walk into a grocery store without reminiscing.
So, please humor me. ;)

Paper or plastic?

Both!

The cats demand we bring a couple paper bags home for them to play in ;)

But plastic is SO much easier to carry!

I voted plastic and then I realized "what if this poll is not anonymous?"  I don't want the world knowing my shopping habits. You'd better guarantee my anonymity or I will unvote.   >:D

I solemnly swear that this poll is anonymous.

What about a 'Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn' option?

Plastic, silly man!  :o :-* :police: ??? :-\

Seriously, I park as far away from vendor entrances as I can, for the exercise. Plastic is much easier to carry and is stronger.

Plastic is also very utilitarian and useful, sometimes for things which would astound or shock the individual who conceived of the concept.  >:D ;D

I was trying to work out what this poll was  about in the uk I very rairly get the choice of paper or plastic bags, so I took it as how do you spend you well earned cash. I very rairly carry cash so my flexable friend is here. On ther other hand my awnser works well for both questions, plastic  :icon_invision:

Don't be so adamant about utilizing only paper, Buffy. You need to be more flexible and plastic in your thinking.

[ahem]

OK, OK.....I'm going now.   :embarrassed:

Yeah, that argument works if you recycle the paper bags.  If you are one of those people that tosses their paper bags into the landfill, then keep in mind paper takes up vastly more space than plastic bags.  It might bio-degrade sooner, but it is still causing problems.

I vote plastic...because my supermarket will recycle my plastic bags.

Neither. I shop at Whole Foods and use their reusable fabric bags. The poll should include a fabric option.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

Plastic. Those that aren't used in picking up after the dog or cleaning the kitty litter box are recycled.

You know they don't ask that anymore in my neighborhood, you can request paper but no more asking.
  •

Melissa

That depends on if I have cash on me or not.  If not, I'll pull out the plastic. ;)

I've changed to both.

I ask for paper then I ask that the paper bags be placed into plastic.  I go to my car, dump it all into a bin I have in there, then I throw the bags out in the parking lot.  This is my way of pretending to be rich and snotty. 'Cause when you're rich, nothing matters but you, babies.  Nothing matters, but you.

Try it some time. Just don't get caught. I did and now I owe the county $500.00.

DUDE! I recycle anything the recycle people say they'll deal with.

Plastic bags often don't even make it all the way home, so, paper if I'm given a choice

Oh that's right I forgot, I'm a schmuck, if I don't pretend I'm so much more important than some environment abstraction, it's all over for me, status-wise. SO:

TRIPLE PLASTIC, at least. AND THEN I just strew 'em about, toss 'em gaily out the window, after I get the crap in my car, (cause hey, I ain't walking even a half a block anywhere, whatsoever) just cause I can, and it's FUN being footloose and fancy free.

fun fun fun fun...
