So I went in to have my baseline labs done and when I got my results over the phone, it was stuff like cholesterol...  Nothing was mentioned about estrogen or testosterone levels.  Should I be concerned that I will have to pay for a test that really doesn't give any of the information I was seeking?

You may have to ask for your health care provider to give you the test results in person or over the phone where you can make specific inquiries.  While it is possible they gave you the wrong test, it is quite likely that your tests came back and they were in the normal range for hormones; the person who gave your results likely doesn't know your trans status and that your hormone levels were of interest to you.  Often they hit the "high points" and skip over the stuff few people are interested in.

I'm sure your endo will have the answers for you. :)  Congratulations on getting to/passing this step!
