I've recently had a dexa scan to make sure I don't have bone loss. I've always been small featured for as long as I can remember, and always looked more like a girl than a guy. As a result, family members when I would visit always try and feed me. When I had my accident in 91 and was hospitalized I was constantly hounded about gaining weight. They'd bring in these huge meals that I just couldn't eat. I ended up leaving that hospital AMA for another because they had me up to 140 & I looked puffy like the pillsbury dough boy. And what's worse is that episode left me with excess skin in some areas so now I try my best to watch my weight carefully. I need to keep active even though it hurts (I have chronic pain issues from accident). My bone structure just can't handle that much weight. As I said I feel best at around 115 to 118. but in the winter time sometimes I can't help creeping up a little due to being stuck inside.

So today I took some body pictures. I'm 2.5 weeks HRT, so no boobs underneath there yet.
I'm worried about my body. My arms are lanky veiny man arms, and my hands are giant man hands, my shoulders are too broad :(.

Bleh. I feel like I look so masculine :(

You mean veiny man arms like this guy?

Oops ...

Errr ...

Never mind.

I have always been very self conscious of my veiny arms....they aren't quite this bad....but Angelina's aren't all the time either! Mine do tend to appear like this in the summer mostly but really any time it can happen.

I do think if I put on some weight it may help....one minute I'm eating Twinkies hoping to add some weight...the next I'm counting calories and going to gym more. The thing is I don't think I look skinny at all!! I wish I could see what others see!
I know I am no way over weight 130# at 5'6.5" tall and I can fit in many petite clothing but I just don't see it.

I always feel like asking other women that are thin what size they wear.....I feel I then could have some comparison. I can fit in size 0 but my hips have grown a bit so size 2 or 3 fit good....dresses are at least a 4 and sometimes a 6...they are a different breed....even though I wear small tops.

Sounds like you wear the same sizes as me. Though my hips are too big for a  size 0. I mostly wear a size 6 in jeans and pants cause I want to be comfortable but I can get intio a 4 if I want to. I wear all small tops as well. My problem due to my long legs is finding pants long enough that fit me around the waist, lol!

We all know you are just a doll Shelly, all those Hollywood women who work out have veiny, muscly looking arms, so what? They still look hot and so do you lady!

My mom, my sister and myself have veiny arms. I don't think it has anything to do with looking masculine or feminine. I think someone once said it means you have good blood flow.

Oh Shantel you are too nice!! I just wish I could see what others do......I can't say by body is that of a man, its probably the one thing that genders me fairly well.....now if I could only get my face, hair, teeth, arms, and............to match. And then that damn thing in-between my legs to become in inny instead of an outy....life would be "priceless" :)

Could my body be passable once maybe HRT reduces some of my upper body muscle and maybe redistributes some fat?
=/
I'm 5'10", 144lb.

This looks all too familiar to me.  Your body and arms/hands/viens are virtually identical to mine it seems.  I'm 6'1", 145lbs.  It just means I'm very particular about clothing for best effect.  I'd like to trade off a couple more inches in the waist for a gain in the hips but I'm not expecting any miracles.  So far two inches from my waist went to my chest instead.  I'll take the wins where they come.  Currently measuring 38-30-36.  Shoulders are 19" across to outsides of arms or 43" circumference.  How about you?

And this is me three weeks ago (difference of two years, ~ 15 kg (not counting armor plates, lol,) two clothing sizes and one shoe size, and 7 months on estrogen)

I love how in all your before pics either you are in armor or your in a military uniform.  Its like you went from a human steam roller to a lovely lady.   ;D

Thank you for the kind reply. And you look great :) I can not wait to drop more weight then start HRT. I am kind of getting excited now heh.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

I guess she meant that Your skin will tighten up all over Your face and You will get more defined features. But what struck me was that Your face actually is not at all masculine, I could even spot any brow ridge. I sort of could imagine how You might look like in 10 months as You have quite a nice base and most probably wont need any surgeries at all. Except, dont expect any major and stunning changes, because You wont go from extremely masculine towards feminine - Your changes will be more subtle but You will do just fine :).
As for changes skin wise - those should be great (I hope You dont smoke and drink booze?). I never did that, I am 35 now, this is how he looked two years ago (please, pay attention to skin)

And this is me three weeks ago (difference of two years, ~ 15 kg (not counting armor plates, lol,) two clothing sizes and one shoe size, and 7 months on estrogen)

So, I can attest that even for us "late bloomers" - this stuff works :)

@ Casey
Wow, just wow! Are You on hormones???

I know everyone says this, but you really look like my ex fiance. If you play bassoon, bass, flute and sing, well I am going to be a very confused girl.

Beautiful, I would guess to say you really don't need to post here anymore, sure pass imo.
