At 5:22PM today, after more than nine months of excruciating back and forth, my wife and I signed a separation agreement. This enables me to move out of my house (and away from her) and get on with my life.

Thank you to everyone here who helped me through this awful time. Everyone who sent me upbeat PMs to lift my spirits, everyone who put up with my whiny posts, everyone who offered support, suggestions, or an ear to listen.

I'm entering a new phase of my life. I have a month to move out, so I'm going to be packing 50 years worth of stuff in a hurry (then unpacking and setting up house). You might not see as much of me during that period, but I'll definitely be thinking of my wonderful friends here.

Good for you Suzi.  I hope you have found a nice place to begin again.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

It's great. That's one of the most miserable parts of the whole process is that I bought a wonderful new house to live in, in a neighborhood I really love, and I haven't got to live there because my lawyer counseled me against abandoning my property.

I'm negotiating with a mover, shooting for a move-in date of 12/14.

Double congratulations, then!  I know all too well how financially upsetting and destructive separation/divorce can be.  I'm glad to hear you've already taken steps to make sure you land on your feet (without breaking a heel in the process!)

*hug*
