That has always been the problem, hasn't it?  To be able to see the beauty within, despite what the mirror shows.

I think all women suffer from this to some degree or another because of what society has demanded of us.  But for we transwomen it is even more extreme. 

Just remember, the mirror lies!

Beauty really does come from within.

Society's view of beauty comes from those in power, the rich, the media icons... and it always has. It has always been about "have" and "have not," and those things should not matter... but to so many people they do.

I just strive to be a beautiful person, without regard to what I look like. That doesn't mean I don't want to be perceived as a woman... but why should I care if I'm perceived as an ugly woman or a pretty one so long as I'm recognized?

That doesn't mean I cannot subscribe to my own femininity and outer beauty, just as long as I'm not attempting to meet some impossible ideal.
