Standard Newbie Delay. I read an introduction from someone who joined a year ago but just made their first post today. So I hopped in the wayback machine and checked my profile. It took me twelve days from joining to posting. Now I post every twelve minutes!  Fess up, what was your S.N.D. period?

Approximately one year for me.  I had to get to the point where I could accept that I, myself, was transgendered before I could take the plunge.  I think I was afraid of jumping into the rabbit hole until I *had* to.

Oh I didn't "Join" I lurked for years. when I did join it was a few hours later to my first post. Same thing at a similar site-Long term lurker before joining and jumping in feet first.

edit added: After referring back to my recent beginning here, it was twenty minutes to my first post.

Little over an hour after registering. I guess I just had to say hi.

This account, just under 4 minutes. The first time I signed up, probably close to the same. I don't create accounts on forums without using it immediately.

Same with me, I created and posted... but I found this forum something around 3 months before that.

So, my SND was short and unassuming.

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

I discovered Susan's after going full time and joined to I could answer someone's question. So about 10 seconds?  I'll have to look it up and find out.

I signed up on my first visit, and posted just a few minutes after signing up (which I think my first post led to a edit & reprimand from Devlyn Marie  because I didn't read TOS). Now I have 8.790 posts per day.

36 days.  I lurked for three or so months.

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

About 4 days of chickening out before I posted.  :embarrassed:

I lurked without an account for about a month or so. Once I signed up, my first post was about four days later.
Even after establishing myself here, I still lurk a lot.

This, pretty much.

Correction:  I misread the post... I *lurked* for a long time, but signed up when I was certain and made my first post pretty quickly.

Two minutes, I have never read TOS, probably because I'm dyslexic, reading challenged, have attention deficit and am impatient, besides I have common sense and am reasonably civil.  :icon_ballbounce:

Which doesn't include how long I lurked without registering. I mostly lurk on forums anyway, don't usually have much to say.

I'm just glad S. N. D. is not some disease, it looked serious.

I felt the same way Francis, I thought it was something awful like the clap!  :icon_peace:

Maybe an hour or two. It took me awhile to sort out just what I wanted to say, even if I said it inelegantly. ;)

I'd rather see the world from another angle
We are everyday angels
Be careful with me 'cause I'd like to stay that way
