Alright so me and my dance crew have been preparing for are Talent show and we plan on making a YouTube and Twitter account to get some recognition, which me and the other guys are down for but my thing is I guess at the same time I'm a little nervous I mean we are no beginners we have some serious Talent, plus me and one of the other guys can sing I also play multiple instruments, Violin,Trumpet,Piano,Drums and currently wanting guitar lessons, But being trans and getting the fans and all that I mean your biggest stars watch youtube, And then you have your crazy girls even though one of my members has a girlfriend but still these girls get crazy I'm into hiphop and dubstep and I also impersonate Michael Jackson these girls get crazy when I dance like Mike but me and my dudes want serious recognition but I guess I'm scared because biologically I'm still stuck in this body this is probaly my main reason for wishing I was a normal guy like my friends because I have to much talent to let it go to waste but I don't wanna be recognized in this body ior afraid of people knowing I'm trans, dk I guess I'm stuck :-\ and still find myself wanting to be as normal as possible

You can be famous and trans. There's some well-known performers (The Clicks being the most notable that I can think of currently).

We have a member here (FTM/gender-queer) who's in a band that travels on tour: https://m.facebook.com/kingsofspade?id=157659370924063&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fkingsofspade

You say you pass and are mostly stealth, so you don't have to let anyone know you're trans. Try not to worry, just have a good time. :)

Btw, I request Smooth Criminal  ;D

If you want to be famous, being out may actually be a benefit. Sometimes agents and fans want someone who stands out. It makes you more memorable.

But, just focus on the Talent Show for now, see how that goes, and then take it from there.

Lol, Well I agree with the whole stand out thing, It's just some people have a serious issue with transgenders and I worry but your right I gotta focus on this show

Of course often fame is fleeting. You know the term "15 minutes of Fame", it's often true. Smile and try to enjoy it and not try to be too egotistical about it. It's sounds like you're a talented young guy, so where's your youtube video, buddy? :) I think you should share.

I know of a few indie and punk bands that have transgender members and for the most part their fans are supportive. They mostly transitioned after gaining their fan following though, so I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes.

But yeah I agree with those who said to just focus on the talent show for now. If you gain a fan following most casual fans aren't going to look closely enough to know that you're trans* and the hardcore fans are going to love you either way.

In my own country, particularly within my own sport, I'm famous. I write a 4 page monthly feature in a national magazine and starred in my own DVD and am often asked for autographs, sent fan mail, etc, but yet I can still go to the store without being photographed, the perfect amount of famous in my opinion. I'm not publicly 'out' yet but I do intend to at some point. Either my fans, supporters and editors will realise that my talent and huge amount of success within my own field is enough to make them accept and support me, on that merit, or my career will end, but whatever happens I am still going to do it. Without being the real me, the fame and success means very little, I still feel empty.

Well Brandon, if you are going pro, then probably is not an advantage to be on youtube, though I know of guys who have used youtube to help their very fledgling careers along, so it is something that is done.

I'd imagine youtube would be helpful if you want to go pro, for the visibility if nothing else. I admittedly know fairly little about how the music industry works so maybe it would affect your chances of getting a record deal, but because of the internet it's possible to make a living doing all kinds of art without a big publisher.
Mind you, it's really, really difficult and you'll never be super famous as an independent artist, but it is possible to make a living that way.

Plus, if you got really popular and monetized your videos, you can make decent money from that. I know it's a different genre of video, but Pewdiepie makes a living from his gaming videos, as well as many other youtubers. (Granted, they have millions of subscribers, but still, it is a way to make money).

I would say you should go for you dream and ->-bleeped-<- anyone who would have a problem with it.
when everything comes to all, haters gonna hate, if you where normal cis there would also be people having a issue with you, and it shouldn't stop you from doing what you like.
.
when it said I dont think you should expect to much on being stealth, I think it somehow posible to be stealth and fame but it really depend on how famours you are. theres many people who are semi-famours. they have been in tv and worked on the stage and so on, yet still alot of people wont know who they are.
then there are the really famours people like Michael Jackson, and so on which everyone knows, and if you are in this stage it would probably be more or less imposible to be stealth because the media love to dig in peoples privat life.
