Just Ole Me

Anyone out there current in using one of these methods?  If so what are your thoughts?  I am considering both of these instead of orally.

An feedback or experience appreciated.

Just trying to find comfort in this "shell" that doesn't fit.  But I am "remodeling" the shell finally!

I am on the three day "E" patch. It is much safer as far as Deep Vein Thrombosis and is recommended for people my age. I like the fact it is continuous and I do not get the highs and lows of the pill. If you go this way I have a tip for you. Get the surgical cover type tape and cut it about an inch around the patch. Place the patch, tape it on and they work quite well without falling off, etc. It will stay on in the shower and be better protected from falling off. This patch also makes it where you cannot forget to take a pill. I haven't had a problem with skin irritation at all. Hope this helps.  :) Now if I can only remember to take my Spiro!!

I use a patch changed every 3.5 days too; I've never tried any other method, but I love this one. Nice steady constant dose, one of the safest ways of administration, and I don't have to remember my meds more than twice a week (I'm forgetful).

I use the Vivelle Dot, which is *tiny* and stays stuck just fine. I did have more trouble with adhesives with the generics for Climara, and switched.

I have cream/gel E and P.  No complaints at all.  I feel great and I'm developing slowly and steadily, while also taking oral finasteride and dutasteride.  We'll see what my levels look like in March, but I have small breasts now, soft skin, way less body hair and I basically look and feel female.

I've never tried oral E or spiro, but I think my liver and rest of my innards are thanking me for doing it like this.

I have been on Vivelle Dot patches for 18.5 months.  After 2 months the dose was increased and after 14 months I also added estradiol pills to my regimen, as my levels (which had been very good) fell and it didn't seem the patch was going to give me enough estrogen anymore for some reason.  So now, I am on a combination of patches, oral estrogen, oral spirolactone and oral progesterone..
