Games you're looking forward to! =D

I checked pages 1 and 2 of this forum and couldn't see a topic like this, so I though: why not? ;D

So what games are you all looking forward to?

What prompted this topic is that a friend just made me aware of No Man's Sky:

Absolutely gorgeous looking game.  The universe is procedurally generated right down to the plants and wildlife on the planets.  You can walk around, then hop in a space ship and fly up to explore the stars!  The space flight is actually quite reminiscent of my all-time favourite space flight sim: Tachyon.  That's enough to get me interested just in itself, but a procedurally generated universe - if they can pull off such a feat - is a huge 1ft thick layer of icing on top! ;D

Eurogamer did an interview with the team (linky), and this bit seems to sum it up:

QuoteSpeaking of cliches, have a go at this one. "So if you were stood on a mountain and you can see a tree three miles away you can go and you can walk and you can see that tree and what's under it," Murray tells me. "But also if you look into the sky and you see that classic science fiction crescent planet on the horizon, you can go there as well. And if you see a star that's in the sky, given enough time you can go and look at that as well. You can look at the night sky and all of those stars are actually real things, they are real places, and you can have visited some of them but not visited others. Grant [Duncan, the art director] said it the other day. 'Is this the first game that doesn't have a skybox?' It's such a weird thing, it's such a techie thing, but that should be our opener: the first game with no skybox."

Really looking forward to this one :)

Also while I'm at it, there's also Cyberpunk 2077 (noticing a theme here? :P ).  When I first saw the announcement trailer several months ago, I did something rather involuntary in my knickers..  :embarrassed:

I know it's a CGI trailer but if the final game is even a fraction as good as that and even remotely resembles the tabletop RPG (which I *LOVE*! ;D ), then I'm expecting my mind to be well and truly blown! ;D

So what games are you all looking forward to in the near future? :)

I'm not really in a position where I can afford many (if any) video games, but I am excited to see the Lets Plays of Dying Light and The Evil Within.  I would really like to play DBZ: The Battle of the Z, Watch Dogs, and then next UFC game.  I'm also looking foward to Tekken x Street Fighter....whenever they decide to come out with that.

Well, after watching the video you posted about No Man's Sky, I am now looking forward to it! I sure do hope it will be on PC!

I am also looking forward to the new WoW and Diablo 3 expansions, and Star Citizen. :D

I don't look into games as much now though, so I am a bit in the dark about upcoming games lol.

I was really happy to find out it's gonna be released for PS3 instead of being PS4/Xbox One exclusive.

Hiya KiraD, I did a search for No Mans Sky to see what it was all about, it looks & sounds stunning. The head of Xbox One's indie games said he'd love this to come to Xbox one & so would I, on consoles we are starved of space based games, in fact on the Xbox 360 there are only 2 games in the many years this console has been out there are only 2 3D space games, pitifull!

Now for the bad news, the first news item about this game said that the games future is uncertain due to the developers offices being flooded on Xmas eve, they have been told that their insurance doesn't cover flooding as they are in a known flood risk area.
I hope they get past this problem but only time will tell, sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Awwws, that really sucks.. :( and yeh we got hit pretty hard by storms here in the UK over Christmas and there's another one coming over tomorrow and Tuesday which is going to be just as bad.  Insurance really can be stupid over here so that really doesn't sound good for these poor guys.. :(

But yeh, fingers crossed they'll be able to sort it out and get back on their feet once the storms pass, even if they have to move into someone's basement! because there's a lot of people out there apparently (myself included, obviously ;) ) that want to see this game happen :) <333

Dragon Age for me too!  I'm willing to give Bioware another chance after their failure with DA2.  The first one was soooo fantastic though, and the panels they've done during the planning stages for DA: I make it sound like they really know where they went wrong and what needs to be done to make the 3rd installment a real hit!

Lol I liked both so nothing can go wrong in my eyes. ^.^ And we get four playable races now yay!!! Can't wait to make a Qunari. :3

I know DA2 wasn't popular, but I probably disliked it more than most.  The VERY SPECIFIC events of my DA:O adventure led to an epilogue which would have made the entire plot of DA2 completely impossible.  So it really felt like they tore away everything I'd done and worked for in the previous game....

How? They seem to fit pretty well. I do know that DAO wasn't made with a sequel particularly in mind because it was just kind of an experiment, so it branched out lots. But yeah as much as I like DA2, DAO is waaaaay better.

Oh what origin is your favorite? I'm partial to the City elf myself! ^.^

Okay, caveat here, this was a VERY SPECIFIC sequence of events that led to my first and, to me, official epilogue for MY Gray Warden.

I was a mage who was, in most ways, heroic and noble.  I was in a relationship with Leliana, and Alistair took the hit in the end, from the Archdemon.

I demanded that the mages circle be taken from under the authority of the chantry, and the new Queen of Ferelden granted it.  In the epilogue it showed that this was grudgingly granted in the nation of Ferelden and Leliana and I remained together for several years as an adventuring duo.

Sooooo yeah, that whole plot of DA2 falls apart at the part where they specificly claim that 1) the war of the oppressed mages rising against the chantry quickly spreads to Ferelden and 2) Leliana quite clearly states that she has not seen the Gray Warden and has no idea where she has been for several years......

There's more, but those were the most important retcons to me.

Notwithstanding the ever growing pile of games I have still to go through, of course I'm already hyped for a bunch of new ones:
- watchdogs, so annoyed it got delayed
- DRAGON AGE DRAGON AGE DRAGON AGE not a week where I don't at least once cry about the perceived AGES until it drops *sniff*
- Warlords of Draenor because HELL YEAH i can finally play a handsome orc  ;D
- Fallout 4 whenever that may exist, I need it
- The Evil Within looks interesting, as does Dying Light, but i just love horror/zombie games, so....

Looking foward to the Far Cry Compliation (For Blood Dragon really) as well as the Tomb Raider with all of the DLC with it as well as Watch Dogs (was irritated when that got delayed too) and Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes
