Ok Ladies this is provably TMI but here it goes'

Im Only about 6 weeks post op as some of you guys know Ive has constipation problems before surgery but it has only gotten worst after surgery, Ive tried every stool softer and laxative out there and even though they do help with the constipation I still feel some rectal pain like if there was something against my vaginal wall in my rectum and does not let the stool pass freely I know it might be an obstruction but my doctor wants to make sure its not something else so Im having a Berium Enema test done with XRays.
Its not a fistula because My vagina its healing perfectly fine and dilation is also good. So I was just wondering if anyone had the same issue or similar, Am I still swollen internally in rectum because of SRS and its just a matter of time???? Please if anyone can advise I would greatly appreciate it...! :)

I have some constipation issues but I blame them on meds I'm taking but it does seem to have slightly worsened after surgery ??? I take stool softeners and do a enema from time to time, its doesn't feel like what you describe just constipation..

Hydration has become a little bit of a problem for me post op. and that is where I sometimes get plugged up.  I feel urges to pee more quickly and have trouble holding as long as I could before my surgery. To avoid the pee calls I do not drink enough water and my bowels are running too dry at poop time to be comfortable. Try doubling your water intake for a while even if you have to hit the toilet more often, I found that herb tea tastes wonderful and I end up with about three times my water intake that way.  I do have a small annoying hemorhoid that seems to act up a bit these days and it does make BM's a little more uncomfortable when it is active, so it could be one of them too.  They swell up and you will know about them by a particular color of blood on your toilet paper, if you see it, do not freak, but call the doctor anyhow.  I had a sigmoid endoscopy 45 days before my SRS so they know what my insides look like.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

I would recommend the usual dietary changes first before going at an invasive procedure. Plant fiber (whole fruits/veggie) and enough fluid intake as suggested.

actually stretching everything to make the new vagina does stretch the main muscles and also causes a distinct hump inbetween the legs that is not there pre-op.
The reason we are given a ringcushion to sit upon post-op is because we have a new hump of muscle that takes time to settle down to pre-op size but we have to prevent that or else we shut up - so each dilation will force the muscle up again or feel to be pressing against it.

This may also vary from person to person depending on original pelvis and muscles shape and size.

To clear the constipation and keep it clear take a very small dose of laxatives every day for a week or two - perhaps a quarter of what is recommended for constipation - a full dose will empty the guts then they will stop working again until they are once again constipated - a small doss and light meals of plenty of soft greens will get things settled down to a regular rhythm.
