Sounds like we are about the same size. I have personally no use for either. Tight binding isn't useful to me. Living comfortably is. I can't breathe in any regular binder and end up on pain and/or the hospital.

Back support band works very well and is adjustable as well as cheap.

tri top does give better compression than a 997. I hardly wear my 997 any more because I am uncomfortable with how I look in it. Only problem for me is the tri top makes my hips stand out more than the 997.
