So I seem to have hit the wall, I've been really disciplined, counting calories etc. but think I've nearly run out of fat to loose. I might have to reduce protein and increase carbs while still in calorie deficit to try and catabolise some muscle, kinda looking like one of the Na'vi from the movie Avatar at the moment lol.

In the good news basket however; my therapist is preparing the referral to an endocrinologist for HRT this coming week. I apparently should be able to see the endo later this month or early July, fingers crossed :)

Reading the above I feel kind of awkward as I surprisingly needed to gain weight to actually look healthy.

Age: 29
Height: 182cm
Waist both before therapy start and now: ~80cm (what can I improve here anyway :-) )

Weight before therapy start was between 62-63kg even though I ate 3 lunches per day I simply couldn't gain. I actually spent more money on food expenses than on the rent of my Prague flat!

Current weight is stable between 67-68kg which is finally the optimal BMI weight for a 182cm tall female. And I have a butt now (odd I like it grew up?) so that I can sit comfortably and no longer feel like I'm sitting literally on my pelvic bone. Not to mention my food consumption dropped significantly. Sometimes I can barely finish a single lunch :-) .

I'm 5' 9" and medium build. On February 1 when i started hormones i weighed 188lbs. As of current after almost five months on hrt i weigh 166lbs. Haven't done anything too extraordinary other than eat more veggies/fruit and less sugar and bread and walk/jog 3 miles 4-5 times a week. As with anyone the more weight i lose the better. :) But if my boobs were a lil bigger I definitely would be rocking the summertime swimsuit attitude. LOL

my weight fluctuates between 120-140 and i'm 6'2. i should start weighing myself on friday's since i seem to pig out more at the end of the week o:

Why yell :-) ? I had food consumption like a sportsman on steroids and everyone just stared how much food I'm capable to eat and still be slim. So you're not alone. But be extra careful during the initial HRT weeks.

Your metabolism is more likely to slow down as the testosterone will start dropping and estrogen will eventually get the upper hand. My food consumption dropped to like 33% in a month and keeps getting lower. Now it's like on 25%.

I wouldn't, because I'm the same way. When I started hrt my metabolism increased. I basically eat what I want, but I do watch my portions.

I look at food and gain weight darn nab it! Oh wait, then again when I look at food I have this reflex problem where my arm shoots out and my hand grabs the food I just looked and the arm then jerks back and the hand deposits it directly into my mouth hole.

Actually, I am not so much that way any more except oddly when stressed or really tired. Even then I am more conscious of what I do and have been doing pretty good barring this odd set back of half a pound this week.

Also, I know the real struggle of folks trying to gain weight, it is a real deal and I feel for you all just the same as us who have the opposite issue. Yes, skinny can be just as troubling as being obese. I have enough hugs to go around, and enough understanding too know it's not a joke.

We are all in this together, getting to be healthier is really what this thread is about and it just so happens a good weight is between too low and too high, and good health is about being in the good weight range. We'll all get their together with each others' cheers!!! Lot's of rock stars on this thread!

Oh, & 'gaining' ½ a pound in a week is normal fluctuation:   Look at my numbers for the year so far.

If you look at this graph you can see that even when I was losing almost 2lbs per week early last year, there were still many times when my weight went up. 

The dark blue daily weights are all over the place;  Even the light blue weekly averages move up & down a lot;  Only the green 28-day average shows a smooth curve, & even that goes up sometimes.

Given how little I ate & slept this past week, I will be very surprised if my weight doesn't rise a couple of pounds by next weekend.

Just a wee update that has nowt to do with weight:

I wandered out as Tessa yesterday, but from my home this time.  Three times: once to my Quaker meeting; once to my NA meeting; & once for my usual 4-mile walk around the neighbourhood.

I received many hugs after each meeting, and no unusual looks or stares in my neighbourhood - just several friendly greetings, as per usual.

Despite regular running, my weight has increased from 65 to 69 kg (from 143 to 152 lbs). I suspect the accuracy of the scale, but I guess it was anyway increased.

While running at today noon.



The sun here is very strong, and the weather forecast warns a high level of UV.

I see from your photos that you are looking just as great as ever  :)

I stayed between 147 & 150lbs for 15 years (age 16-31), except when I took more exercise than usual, when my weight would go up to 154lbs, & then drop back to 150 again once I stopped exercising as much.  You may be experiencing something similar.

You seem to have found a good balance where you look both thin & healthy.  Congratulations  :)

ok, there must be something wrong with my dig scale too.. clothes on, 156.4.. clothes off (well, jeans and shirt), 156.4  no change at all.  How is that possible??   >:(

..  and I thot I heard some snickering from it last week.   :P

think i'll go find some half-dead batteries and play battery roulette.  maybe it'll think twice a bout playing around!

I am surprised that I managed to actually lose some weight this week rather than gaining some.  But happy   :)

It has been a good week.  There has been very little sleep, but food did include a 12-oz Fillet Steak on Wed & a Double Blue-Cheese Burger yesterday.  There is about to be more steak incoming very, very shortly  ;D

Well its been a good week I must say! Firstly, my therapist send my referral to the endocrinologist early this week and I have an appointment at the endo in two weeks time! I can't wait :) To top it all off I really dropped down in weight this week, I'm not sure why as I'm not doing anything differently, but I'm not complaining lol. And congratulations to all of you out there putting so much effort in :)
