Gloom

Hello, all.

I'm female assigned at birth and interested in top surgery. I've been doing some research online, but have a lot of questions that I don't see addressed anywhere.

Could someone give me a rough step-by-step timeline for how top surgery works? I'm not sure how to get started. Most importantly, I wonder if it's necessary for me to go through any therapy before talking to a doctor/surgeon. I don't see the need unless surgeons prefer that I have it.

After that, I suppose I contact a surgeon? Is there any consultation process/period? How long does this last? What happens next?

For my specific situation, I'm neutrois, so I'm not really interested in hormones (probably ever). Let me know if this affects the step-by-step process in any way.

I'm currently a student. I don't know if I could work this in during a break or not. I work during the summers, so I only have week-long breaks here and there. My tentative plan is to do this after I graduate and before I begin full-time work. This will be in summer 2015. It seems pretty far away, but I'm asking now to make sure I'm prepared with therapy, or whatever. There's an off-chance I could squeeze it in the 3 weeks I have off in winter 2014, but I'm not sure. Does that seem feasible?

Thanks.
