Carbonated

I have been looking everywhere for a sports bra that gives a decent compression. I want to be able to go to the gym and work out in a baggy sweatshirt without giving that obvious boob-look.
Today I found this:
http://www.underworks.com/women/bras/extreme-magicotton-sports-and-binding-bra
Anyone tried this or knows something else that might work?

I believe this came out right after I got top surgery (recently).  I would have totally jumped on this for working out.  A good replacement for the deceased Frog Bra from Title 9 (same fabrics).  I couldn't stand lifting (free weights), in the mirror at the gym (for correct form), and seeing my chest, like you.

The thing that attracted me to the Frog Bra was the "full back", just like this one.  Having those "bra straps" brought up my dysphoria.  This may even work well for those days your body needs a break from binding.

Personally, I would order this right away.

It looks good. The lycra in binders is what doesn't stretch I think.

Anyone?

And good luck with your upcoming surgery Alex!:)

I actually found one I like better than this. I'm not sure if you've seen the post for the Tank Top Binders on eBay in this forum but the same company makes a binder like this too. Its not a thin single layer and even if my shirt somehow came up there is 0 transparency. If you like the Underworks one you listed, great, but wanted to let you know of another option in case you were still looking. I have switched to using 100% of my binders from this place because they are so much cheaper and better compression than any others I had tried.

Those are basically love boat binders. More discreet than love boat probably.

The loveboat binders I've seen are either velcro, pullover or zipper, these have several hooks down the side like you find on the back of a typical bra to hold close. This doesn't bunch, pinch or make noise if a part comes loose like velcro does (never had any hooks come loose). Maybe I'm mistaken though and I've just never seen the loveboat hook style like this, but I guess thats possible since loveboat is approx 5x more expensive than these, so I stopped looking at their products a while ago.

Carbonated is looking for a sports bra that gives enough compression to hide their chest, while still allowing for a decent workout (meaning, they have to be able to breathe more easily than a binder would allow).

I did say basically, not exactly. They are definitely cheaper.

I'm an athlete and train 6 days a week. I lift weights, do cardio and sport specific drills all with this binder on. This is the only binder I've even been able to wear without hindering my workouts. I'm very flat with it but its short enough that it doesn't hinder activity or breathing for me anyways.

I guess in that context they are basically like not only loveboat but every other company out there then as "basically" most carry a shorter version like this but all designed completely different. This is no more like loveboat than Underworks for that matter.

Underworks isn't nearly short enough not to hinder breathing/work out in. In roughly an hour of exercise I did something that meant I could only breathe half the depth I normally do without pain, in a slightly too large tritop. I know it was that because my torso was agony exactly the amount that the tritop covered.

Sorry, I thought you misunderstood as Carbonated was requesting a sports bra specifically and you didn't mention that this binder didn't hinder a workout.   It is great to know there is a binder out there that works well for everyday binding PLUS working out.

Yes, I could have never worked out in my Tri Top.  I used my stretched out old Frog Bras (to work out in), prior to my surgery.  I couldn't find anything better.

The problem with all the other "binding" sports bras I found (until the one Carbonated posted here), is that they used molded cups...so that you could note the individual breasts.  That of course didn't work for me.  This one, like the Frog Bra, is not set up like that.  Plus, obviously, it is meant to flatten like a binder.  They should have used a masculine female/trans* model to make it more clear.

I have tried binders like this and they never seem to work for me at all, but this might be worth checking out since it's pretty cheap. Thank you!

But still, anyone that can help me pick the right size for the underworks one? Still confused how us sizing works lol

Alexthecat

It's probably the american size. They are based in America. Inches around the part below the breast. Though I can't be positive.
