top surgery, nipple discoloration

Here is a picture of my right areola/nipple, as you can see half of it is darker then the rest, it has been this way for about 4 months now, my left nipple is the same except 1/4 of it is dark and the rest is lighter, any ideas of what this is, or if it will go away?
