Currently, I am self-employed with a jack-of-all trades skill set and do odd-jobs if/when I can.  I am also an indie author and freelance writer, but am looking to get back to school for something more permament like being a therapist/counselor of some kind.

Awesome. What do you write about?

Currently as of this morning, I am wrapping up a 600+ page fantasy/sci-fi epic novel that I have been editing the last 3 months.  Think of it as a "more modern" Illiad, Oddysee, or Beowulf.  Lots of fights, adventures, crazy monsters, and over-the-top characterization to put some flair on my personal philosophical journey disguised as a plot.  As soon as my agent is back in their office, I will be shooting them the (pre-approved) manuscript.  This is a HUGE revision of an old title of mine (that was in bad shape) and the first book I am going to go under the "trans me" as. I'm really trying to leave my old name behind, more so than my gender identity.

I own four copyrights currently.

When it comes to books, I do fantasy/sci-fi, memoirs, and poetry: and will continue to do these things.  I may also write about my trans experience when it is a little further along.

Once in a while I ghost-write under pseudonyms for some political websites, but that's just work I do on the side.  For "proffessional" and confidentiality reasons I can't even hint where I do these.

Well, currently I am unemployed due to medical reasons, but before that I used to work at a fish fabric XD Yay, standing in a cooler from about 8am till 6pm gutting fish xD Only sadly lasted two months, but have a funny story of falling into one of the tanks there filled with ice water and fish xD Before that I worked as a waiter for almost three years, two years and a half years at a family restaurant and a half a year at a coffee shop :)

Case management for the elderly in risk of nursing home placement.  I love it and it is the most rewarding job I have ever had.  I worked as a nurse for 18 years prior to this
As Brett Michaels said Every Night Has its Dawn :)

I posted earlier, indicating that I own a business with a partner (who, by the way, doesn't know I'm ts).  Anyway, I was military, now retired.  I worked as a telemarketer while going to college after retiring from the military for about a year or so, then as a truck driver for a year, the IT field for five years, and as a security contractor in Iraq for eight years.  I'd still love to work in a boutique, but that doesn't really seem likely as this time.  I'm 60 now, and not sure what happens from here.
Always running away from myself...

I teach Literature and Writing at both the high school and college levels. And next year, I'll also be the theatre teacher at the high school. That ought to be interesting. :)

I've been in IT for a number of years and am beggining to hate it. It's not rewarding and is sucking the life out of me. Working with and for a bunch of snobby, arrogant ->-bleeped-<-s who are homophobes and reject anybody that is not an uber studly male or perfectly femme woman, really sucks. It pays the bills though, when I do work. It's not a transition friendly environment either.
"There was a sculptor, and he found this stone, a special stone. He dragged it home and he worked on it for months, until he finally finished. When he was ready he showed it to his friends and they said he had created a great statue. And the sculptor said he hadn't created anything, the statue was always there, he just cleared away the small peices." Rambo III

To be honest, many people have it much worse so count your blessings. I have to transition while working in a all male max prison and even I feel more fortunate then some others who are transitioning.

This is the exact opposite of my experience working in IT, granted I tend to only work for startups but almost all the people I work with are friendly and very open minded. I think there is a variety of different people in tech and you just need to find the right place.

My job title is "Technical Services Coordinator", and all that really means is I:

-am a database administrator
-am in charge of final approval and electronic storage of some OSHA mandated documents (is it really THAT hard for grown ass adults to print their name the way HR has it, sign a document, remember to put a date on it, and check a couple of boxes in a fashion that keeps the Federal Government from having a hissy fit?????????)
-deal with technical issues for a training department in corporate America
-have way too much time on my hands at work for playing on the internet while waiting for something that needs my attention
To be or not to be....that is the question
