So have been working with the corp hr dept for several months and have become very tired of the dual role, boy at work stuff was getting to me more and more, with that, last week i went ahead and contacted our local hr manager so we have been working on a plan and time line to start full time and coming out at work sequence. I am in a supervisory roll so i have plenty of bosses, peers and about 20 folks who work directly for me in a department of about 100. so timing and staging is important to avoid creating any more conflict than required. any way over the next two weeks before i leave for FFS I will have to speak to several groups and many one to one conversations about who I am and maintaining a profesional realationship beyond personal feelings. emotionally I am some between super excited and some what nervous depending on any passing moment or event. so my first meeting is with the plant manager and union officers and of course my manager and general supervisor. any way my intent is make sure and have as many people aware of me so when i get back the plant that it will not be as much a shock to as many people to see me as me. and to time it close my leaving so that people have time to move past the shock, should be a very challenging month for me both physically and emotionally as my shell is removed totally and permanantly. I have my federal documentation it made it via post yesterday, i am still waiting for the state license hope that is back within a couple weeks but who knows.
anyway just wanted to share some thoughts on what I am doing and see if anyone has crossed this path from a simular positon and maybe gleen some of that experience for my own benifit
one day, one step, with grace it will be forward today

Good on you!
I just announced it on Friday came in on the Monday. And.....................no one seemed to care to be honest, they struggled with pronouns but now 18 month down track I'm just a very normal woman and treated as such.

Hope it goes as smoothly for you!

Congratulations!

What wonderful news. I hope it goes smoothly.
In my own experience, I came out to a few people socially to get my feet wet. Then I went big time, and in a mass email did it all at once. The next day people looked up from their tasks, and said 'Good morning Paula', and went about their day. It was almost anticlimax.
Good luck.
