Laser hair removal safe?

Hi Ladies.

First I wanted to say "hello" (I'm new) and thank everyone for a great website. In just one month it's helped tremendously.  :)

2014 is the year I've decided to embrace love rather than fear. I'm fifty years old now and have known I was transgendered since elementary school. I came out to my family around January 1st refusing (for the first time in my life) to be afraid. Two weeks ago I sat nervously in front of my adult son telling him how much I loved him and told him the direction I wanted the rest of my life to take. To my utter amazement I've encountered almost no resistance at all! My wife, who I love very much, is my biggest supporter followed by my two sons .. truly shocking!! I've gotten very far in only the first month but I realize I have a long road ahead - which brings me to a question...

I see the short term road (next two years) as diet (working like a charm - see my post in "Nutrition"), laser hair removal for face and chest hair (I live and work in South Korea. The Iaan clinic is close), then an orchi (I want to keep my penis. Zero interest in a full SRS). I have not started hrt yet. I'm thinking to start light est after the orchi (Thailand) this summer. I don't want to take andro blockers and I want as little est as I can get away with. I'd like to keep my transformation on the mild side, moving slowly.

First question: Is laser hair removal safe? Second, I'm I seeing the path clearly? Should things be done in a different order?

Thank you all,

Danielle

Laser is safe and if done by a competent practitioner who knows the difference between male and female skin and hair then it works very well. You will see the best effects if your hair is dark and skin is very light. Blonde or white hairs need electrolysis I believe. My face has not fallen off yet. It is probably one of the biggest confidence boosters you can have in your transition and probably one of the first things you should do.

Good luck
