On the internet like myspace or youtube etc... when signing up for these places do you sign up under a male or female? and can you sign up for male if female wanting to be male and give yourself a name you want to be called by?

My other question is... If I wanna present myself as a guy going out in public what do I do about my female name? Can I just give myself a male name and not have the paper work done to change it I mean for now until I'm ready and comfortable to get it legally changed and fully be male? Because what if I meet a girl I'm interested and she asks me my name, what do I tell her? My female name or a name i wanna give myself?

One more question... How do you flatten your chest when you go out in public? What do you use to flatten it?

You just sign up under the name you wish to use. Check the gender box you wish to be known as.
It's that simple. They're not going to come through the screen and check your genitals.

As far as going by another name in person, it's no big deal. I know lots of people (non-trans) who are never called by their birth name except in formal situations (court, etc.)
People honestly don't think anything if someone goes by a name other than the one on their license. That's my experience anyway.
I just went by a male derivative of my middle name. You could also use an androgynous name.
I haven't changed my name, but my family are the only ones who use my birth name.

On youtube and myspace I did. I actually have  2 different accounts for both youtube and myspace. One is female and the other is male, under the name if I do or ever become male would like to use. I made 2 different accounts because I'm not out yet, and I wanna be anonymous, but I wanna be able to say what i wanna say being under a male name on youtube and myspace  etc.... and I don't want to say it under a female name. I feel like I'm taking on a whole new 2nd identity, one female one male. It's weird to me.

Are you androgyne?

you can get chest binders off the internet. Try Underworks, i got mine from there! They work the best, esp the double panel fronted one.

Yeah, it will be wierd to you at first, it was to me because i went through my teen years being so scared of being anything different than female - the image in which i thought everyone wanted to see. But dont worry, you'll get used to it. Now there's only family and very old friends i aint spoken to in years only know my by my birth name.

And i worry a lot about meeting a girl and not knowing what name to give her... but now all i worry about id passing enough for the girl to realise i am a guy and nothing else.

But if there's anything you're not comfortable with, you dont have to rush into things, go at a pace that suits you.

Are you androgyne?

Is that having male features or something like that? Like growing hair on the face? If that's it, then no I'm not androgyne. I don't know what androgyne is.

What do you use to pack it down below?

Underworks is definitely a good place. However, if you're not straight up-and-down (if you have a couple extra curves in the torso area), I'd recommend the cotton concealer T and muscle T. I tried the double compression one, but as I'm a bit overweight, it didn't quite do the job.

As far as packing, there are a million places online. You can get packers for everyday comfort, for using with a partner, or for urination. Rather than give you a list of sites like the ones I've used, check out http://www.ftmguide.org/. This is by far the most useful and informative site I've found for anything ftm. Just a little tip on the STP packers: these little guys use medicine spoons for piss-catchers, and they can be insanely tricky. I bought the one from DJ's, and never got it to work until I took off the spoon and used a silicone funnel. Otherwise, get ready to have all your pants smell like a urinal (tends to make you pee down your legs).

Hope this helps.

This helps a lot, thanks. The site is not working right now, I'll have to check it out later.  I also bought one of those binder things for the chest off ebay. It was about 15 bucks, which is not bad.

What does STP stand for?

For the soft packers and any other products are they packed discreetly in plain brown boxes so no one will know what it is?

I ordered one from Mango Products and it came in a plain package.  It did say Mango Products on the shipping label, but I doubt anyone would know what it was from that.  Could be dried fruit, right?

I'd guess none of these companies will send you a package that says "FAKE PENIS INSIDE!!" in bold letters on the outside.   ;)

If they did, I doubt they'd get many referrals.

Oh, and Mango's soft packer was very cheap, and the quality seems fine, but it took nearly six weeks to arrive.  So if you're in a hurry, pick another one.  And that said, now that I have it, I don't find I actually want to use it very often. But you'll have to decide for yourself.

Thanks. I just order a soft packer and they ship in plain brown box. I just didn't want to give my phone # to them. Hopefully there won't be a problem and they don't call. I still live at home and I don't want my mother answering the phone thinking who the heck is this calling, ya know.

I forget where I ordered mine from, but they declared it as 'rubber tubing' for customs purposes. And they misdelivered it to my mother's house next door, so I had to think fast. I told her it was computer parts. I'm glad she didn't ask what part of a computer was rubber tubing.

Mind you, she knows so little about computers I could've told her it was the cooling system and the rubber tubing connects to the radiator.

Make sure you've got a quick answer ready if you're asked.

Oh wow, I'd be so freaked out. I can't believe they misdelivered it. I'm glad she didn't ask you what part of the computer rubber tubing either. That would sucks if your mother found out. So your not out to your mother and family, and friends yet?

I got another question.

When you first meet a girl your interested in dating do you tell them your trans? I would feel weird not telling the girl who I really am. I feel like I would be living a lie, ya know what I mean? I mean I never plan on getting the surgry done, but I would like to have a girlfriend sometime in the future when I start living my life as a guy. If I can get myself to feel comfortable. Right now I feel really werid since everyone one knows me as a girl. But you can still have sex and all right? They have a packer for that, right? And would a girl be freaked out by that?

Moms will generally believe anything you tell them about a computer. "It's for the fan belt in my search engine!" ;D

I think the biggest tip there is to keep a look out for bisexual girls. How could you go wrong with that? lol  But seriously, it's not going to be easy, i have found out. There's going to be a lot of rejection, so prepare yourself for it, but at the same time, dont give up hope. There's bound to be someone out there who will love you for who you are, so never give up ^.^

Well yeah, I'm out. A bit hard not to be when your voice changes and you look like a guy. I just didn't want to tell my mother that she was holding my dick in a box.

And as far as dating, my gf knew about me before we started dating, but she is cool about my physical differences from other guys. And yes we have sex. Great sex :)

on myspace there are codes you can use to hide those sort of details. mine doesnt show me as male or female. if you go to any myspace code site they should have the codes for hiding that info. the codes there should be called something like hide details next to picture and hide general info. i think that should do it, just have a look about and see. hope that helps a bit :) if u want anymore help feel free to contact me and i can try help you out with some sites etc :)
