So, not having much luck on my job hunt for a while, I've decided to try to get into some freelance writing work, mainly just starting off with small jobs here and there on freelance sites. The thing is, I would like to work under my preferred name and true gender (as of right now, I am not in the process of transitioning due to situational/financial elements and concerns).

My question is, do you all think that this would create conflict in the future when I do get back into the regular job market? Could I explain the alias? Or should I just grit my teeth and put my legal name?

I work full time freelance under my preferred name and gender (still not legal yet) and no problems at all. Only the talent coordinator and accounting has any clue.

I say go for it. Confusion is easy to deal with, dysphoria is not always as easy.
