This is how I turned my Reel Magik Basic Packer into a functional STP!

Materials:

  • Packer
  • STP of Choice (I used the JetP)
  • Scissors
  • Tough Paper Towels (lint free preferably)
  • Drill
  • Spade Drill Bit slightly larger than the size of the hole you wish to make

Prep:

I found it helpful to keep the lint free rag wet on one side and dry on the other. Also! If you hate the feeling of supper sticky stuff you might find gloves helpful (although I found that being able to feel everything I was doing was more asserting that I was on the right track). And of course - Trim your nails!
[/list]

  • Place an X on the back of the packer where you are expecting the STP to exit the packer. Highly recommend that you first straighten out the penis shaft of the Reel Magik packer and get comfortable with the feel of it being straight in your palm.
  • Make sure the drill bit is in place and your drill is fully charged. If your power drill has a low power setting, turn it to the lowest setting in order to make sure you have full control of how fast it goes. Being able to control how fast or slow it drills is imperative.
  • Alright! and then the scary part begins - With the packer firmly in the palm of your hand and the fingers wrapped around the shaft, place the drill bit firmly against the x you marked and start drilling slowly. Get a feel for how the Silicone is going to react to the drill. Silicone is stretchy and spongy (especially the RM Packer) and therefore moves and rotates. The trick is to go slow, and hold the packer firmly in the palm of your hand with fingers wrapped around holding the shaft straight.
  • Eventually, it feels like you are drilling but not getting anywhere - that means you need to press harder. Terrifying cuz the RM is so expensive - but if you have gotten this far, you probably believe it is worth the risk. As you continue to test faster speeds and different levels of pressure, make sure you take breaks, pull the drill away and inspect the progress.
  • In the first inch of the drilling process, when you take a look at the progress, you will begin to see pieces or "chunks" of silicone that are getting loose. Reach in and pull those  loose bits of silicone out. The silicone is sticky, so use the paper towel to clean the drill bit, and your fingers.
  • As you continue to push the drill further along the shaft, make sure to clear out space as you move along. Use the scissors as necessary. There will be a point where you can no longer easily clear out the space - at this point it's going to be necessary that you begin to turn the packer inside out to continue clearing space and moving forward. Do this carefully so as to not damage the shaft, but it's okay to be forceful. It's scary but I have big hands and I was able to get this part open with out ripping the silicone.
  • When you turn the packer inside out, hold it between to or three fingers in one hand and simply pull the edges out and over. Then grip the entire shaft and packer wrapped in your palm and fingers as you continue to press move the drill forward.
  • Once you get to the head of the penis, turn the penis right side out again and gently run the sharp side of the scissors along the urethra opening of the penis. Try to stay with in the "lines" that allow the opening to appear natural. Continue to run the sharp end along the tip until you have a clear line and cut made into the shaft. Then take the tip of the scissors and press it into the opening you have created until you get to the "channel" you have created with the drill.
  • check to make sure you feel comfortable with the amount of room available for a steady stream to pass (try testing this with a water bottle at the base)
  • Once the opening is satisfactory, turn the shaft inside out again,

use the two fingers holding the shaft inside out to pinch the stp hose at the tip of the urethra opening and begin turning the shaft right side out again while keeping the hose in place with your fingers at the tip.
  • .. and you are done!

I chose to try this with the JetP STP method developed by the Tyrone2 prosthetics people - I've decided to move on to another stp bc this is way too complicated. But it will be simple to change the stp I have in my rm packer with another one easily.

Remember to TRIM Your Nails! I didn't and this is what happened to my packer.

This is how I did it guys! I couldn't ignore the dysphoria any longer and this definitely helped. I pack with Jockey Briefs with a horizontal fly. I don't do well with harnesses, they are way too triggering for me. (now I just have to find the right receptacle for me).

Great job Liam!  Excellent write up!

It is funny that you and I picked the same color STP from the large number of colors they had!  Why the hell didn't they have a flesh colored one?  Well, the answer to that is pretty simple, actually.  They use the flesh colored ones in their prothetics.  They certainly don't want people to get away with just using the JetP by itself.

I read you as saying that you are going to look for another receptacle.  Does this one work any better since it is not flimsy to hold in your hand anymore?  Secondly, did you cut it down at all before you put it into the packer?

Thanks for being the one to have the BALLS to cut into the RM for the rest of us!f

Please come back after you find the best receptacle as the best one may be product specific, not just person's body specific, if you know what I mean.

I can't believe that no one else gave you a "reputation" point. This is really excellent.

I haven't decided what kind of receptacle mostly bc of comfort through out the day. I ordered "nipple" type and a "big boy" from the transitional male. I talked to the guys there asking about their "slim line" bc it looks more comfortable.

But yes - I need something firmer and it really pissed me off that the JetP didn't come in a longer size allowing us to trim down to what we need. (Pun intended! :) ) In this case the hose is a bit short. In Order for it to work well the hose ends up about an inch away from the tip of the urethra opening. But it's easier to void with a steady stream if the hose goes as close as possible to the opening.

I think the JetP is a great concept - but the execution has tons of room for improvement.

Yes, the JetP is a great concept for being against the body, being so soft since it is silicone.  Let us know how the other's work!

Guys - the search for the best stp was getting too expensive - so I instead invested in developing one.

I'm looking into licensing etc - but in hoping to bring it out to the market with in the next couple weeks.

Be excited - Tere are trees out there waiting for us to mark them!
