Hey guys, sorry I disappeared for awhile. I've been caught up in things, responsible and trivial alike.
I'm fairly sure there's probably already been discussion of this, but I've been doing late-night thinking again and I can't remember. ;D

I was reading some articles and thinking about how the mind can effect the body's stress levels, conscious and subconscious behaviour, etc, and I was wondering if anyone had heard of peoples' mentality effecting their hormones. I'm not talking majorly, as in no need to actually take them, etc, but maybe that the mind either effected hormones, appearance qualities usually associated with hormone differences, or both. Or maybe someone's even had experience with this?

I suppose "subtle difference" is the keyword, and more over time than short term. I could be nuts, but lately I've been noticing the more masculine qualities about myself physically/behaviourally (and so have others..mind you I'm still pre-t). It could be confidence or thinking/stressing hard enough, and it's probably my imagination. But as I said....late night curiosity/thinking. I should be asleep, but oh well. ;D

Hope it makes sense.

I haven't heard anything solid in the FTM world, but I've heard of several MTFs whose natural estrogen levels rose high enough that they had some of the effect like breast growth. I'm sure nobody has done a formal study on this and it's an interesting question!

That definitely sounds interesting. I'd love to someday see a formal study! Could do well for those of us who aren't able to transition medically quite yet and need at least a little peace of mind (or confidence, maybe).

Given that stress can really raise the body's cortisol levels, why not the other hormones?
