Hmm, I got rid of my body hair in stages...
Two decades ago, I just used the electric razor to get rid of hair on the hands. I did that regularly and nobody noticed. When crossdressing, I just used long-sleeved dresses and tops, and extra-opaque tights (or wear two pairs).
15 years ago, I could afford occasional vacations on my own, and so on the first day I would shave everything with a blade, and let it grow. I even used to have a beard! So I would enjoy 2-3 days of crossdressing and 3-4 days just letting everything grow back. Nobody noticed, although I got some encouragement about having a shorter beard

Then I finally got rid of the beard, and, almost a decade ago, I told my wife about my crossdressing. I would shave myself clean before each session. Some months afterwards, a few familiars noticed my 'bare' arms, joked a bit, but I confirmed that I shaved the body hair regularly and wasn't turning back. Everybody just got used to it.
For many years I used to shave myself fully once or twice per week. At this stage, I really don't get any comments — getting rid of body hair is perfectly normal for males. My wife only wishes me to keep the hairs on the abdomen (don't ask me why! It's a fetish, I guess...), which is all right for me, since I *always* wear a corset over them anyway.
Last month I start getting laser hair removal, mostly because I'm lazy and tend to waste way too much time shaving everything

It's still too early to know about the results, but they look promising so far. The laser operator didn't even ask funny questions; a substantial amount of her clients (not half of them, but close) are males, because, well, having no body hair is perfectly normal for both males and females these days.
If you wish to have a perfect excuse for shaving off all your body hair, start swimming. All swimmers who become at least semi-pros get rid of their hair (looking for the extra edge by reducing water friction), and that's a perfect excuse. If you dislike swimming, you can also try cycling: amateurs, semi-pros and pros will at least always shave their legs, and I seriously suspect that many will do the rest too, since it's a bit silly to have all your body hair from the waist up, but nothing below.
