For a guy hair thinning is bad but a transgender girl like me, it's a nightmare! I've however got ways to fix it. I consume 4 cups of soy milk in the morning, 2 vitamin pills, some tomatoes, glass of orange juice and alot of water!! I than am going to start using a certain kinda shampoo for this hair problem. I'm also gonna add a few other things to that morning routine when I eat. I have to shampoo almost everyday!! Hair thinning really depressed me and than add the girl thing and you have it a ton times worse. I may increase the soy milk to 6 cups! Tastes awful but should help!! It's the stupid dht and testosterone thing.

Hi,

I am sorry that you have this problem .  :icon_hug: a hug from me to ease your pain
Anyway , i am no specialist but if you suspect that it is about dht and testosterone and you are not on HRT  right now , i sugest you to go see a doctor about this . I think it is possible to get some dht blockers pretty easy . Soy should help because of its content in phitoestrogens , but from what i read it could also make more damage , as the human body may try to product even more testosterone and or dht , to balance the hormones , when you break the equilibrium by intaking  (phyto)estrogens . Like 2 months ago , i heard that a girl used red clover prior to hrt and that it helped , so i started to read about intaking phitoestrogens instead of medical HRT , and i am glad i did that as it seems it is quite dangerous , at least regarding the main purpose of getting a feminine body .

Hope it will get better soon and wish you a great day

Hi!

Indeed baldening is a nightmare, specially for us, since male pattern baldness is a major give-up.

I'd recommend you seeing a dermatologist. Years ago, a long time before even considering HRT, I was prescribed with finasteride and a lotion of minoxidil. I only started using them recently (biggest mistake ever!), and a big damage had already been done. Nonetheless, HRT together with finasteride and minoxidil helped me to get a certain regrowth and my thinning hair became thick again! I still don't know if it will grow as long as before, but I'm happy to have my hair coming back a bit!

I'd skip the soy milk and other similar "remedies".  First step, go to CVS and buy yourself a three month supply of minoxidil - use it twice each day.  It's very cheap, available in the hair care section, and the generic is just fine.  More importantly, it actually has been clinically proven to work.

Second step, get your doc to put you on finasteride.  Again, it's easy, very cheap (if you use the generic and cut the pills), and it also has been clinically proven.

Both are probably cheaper than the quantities of soy milk you're describing, and probably far healthier too.

Your hair is important, and thinning hair is a nightmare to get back.  I strongly urge you to skip the natural remedies and go straight to the things that really do work, because you'll end up losing even more hair while waiting for the soy milk to have an effect.

:)
