This was the same high school where a Trans* woman was involved in a scuffle with some other girls who were bullying her a few months ago.  In another account of the incident in this paper, there were allegations that the current principal has made life hell for the faculty and students in general.  http://www.ktvu.com/news/news/crime-law/student-reports-being-sexually-assaulted-high-scho/nd5Dt/  If this is true, no wonder Trans* students are having trouble, but they are not alone.

And the student has recanted the story.  I'm glad if that's the case, but the last thing we need is people crying wolf and getting this kind of negative attention.

What an idiot.

Or a very, very troubled soul. I wonder what the rest of the story is.

Being someone who actually has been attacked, it makes me kinda sad when people fabricate such things

Oh well, there is obviously no shortage of senseless B.S. going on in this world

People really need to get a grip on how dangerous false claims are. I personally know another ftm who claimed to have been assaulted during school hours and dropped it once police got involved. He later admitted to me that it was a lie; he'd just been called some names and wanted to get revenge. This isn't the way to bring attention to the difficulties trans people (or any people really) face in society and it's terrible that so many people do this  >:(

Yeah, really sucks.  >:( Though like Suzi, I wonder what the story is. Did he recant out of fear? if not and it didn't happen, why on earth would he think this was a good idea?

Teens need to get a grip on a LOT of things. Teenagers are intellectually as clever as adults, but lack experience and perspective to understand the repercussions of what they do. Basically they can get into an adult amount of trouble with a child's ability to foresee what that could possibly be.

We are getting roasted alive in the comments of the AP story on Yahoo.

I find that trans folk get roasted in the comments of just about every Internet story anywhere that involves us. Internet comments deserve the same level of attention given the messages scratched into paint on the inside of public rest room stalls.

It just scares me to death to read those comments!

Also saying "nothing happened" out of fear is not unusual
