Kia Ora,

Are your spiritual needs fulfilled ?    >:-)

Or is there something still lacking in your life when it comes to spirituality ?

Satnam Anatta,

I feel fulfilled. I have found the path that I want to be on.

I have no needs in that department, so no.

I put other, I don't feel I have any spiritual needs but I do believe I am on the right path. All I have to do is be me, no need for any system of belief or contemplation of my impact or meditation to get to some state of clarity.

Yes, they are. This journey is a spiritual one for me and it has deepened my relationship with my spiritual guide.

I really don't know how to respond to this question.   I feel like I am on an eternal walk about through all of the Worlds of God, being in this present physical one.   Spiritually I am ever evolving and ever discovering and exploring my spiritual being.   Since this is an eternal journey toward God, and me being a wayward soul, getting lost many times along the way, and only getting back on the mystical path with the Grace of God and much soul searching and introspection on my part,  it's difficult for me to understand what it means to be satisfied spiritually.   Being a Baha'i I have confidence that I have found my way to the Spiritual Ocean of Knowledge to drink from and provide nourishment for my soul.    But since my soul forever graves this nourishment it's difficult for me to understand the concept of fulfillment.

I am not sure if this makes any sense to anyone,  it's just how I understand  my spiritual existence.  When I am lost and walled in I feel the absence of the Spirit of God.   When I my spirit is open and respective I feel the Presence of God in every speck of the world around me.

This is just how I view my existence.   I don't expect anyone else to understand.

Kia Ora,

It's interesting to see how others view spirituality and what it's like to be spiritual for them...Understandably some people have a somewhat narrow view of it, seeing it along similar lines to theism and or superstition...I guess perhaps one could say these people are both atheist and aspiritualist  However....

Quote :

"Spirituality means something different to everyone. For some, it's about participating in organized religion: going to church, synagogue, a mosque, etc. For others, it's more personal: Some people get in touch with their spiritual side through private prayer, yoga, meditation, quiet reflection, or even long walks.

Research shows that even skeptics can't stifle the sense that there is something greater than the concrete world we see. As the brain processes sensory experiences, we naturally look for patterns, and then seek out meaning in those patterns. And the phenomenon known as "cognitive dissonance" shows that once we believe in something, we will try to explain away anything that conflicts with it.

Humans can't help but ask big questions—the instinct seems wired in our minds."

I view meditation as inner science (somewhat mystical perhaps, but it does not involve any 'blind faith' superstition) just simply exploring the mind by using the mind's awareness, a thing of which logic/brain alone can't do...Hence why I'm an atheist in what I don't believe "in a god/s"...A rationalist in how I believe "through reason and experience"...And a humanist in what I believe...

My spiritual needs are met, that is, in the form of inner peace and contentment with the flow of life...

Kia Ora Michelle,

Spiritually, do you 'want' more out of life than what you have now? (in other words, are you 'still' searching for that 'happy' medium?)

As I've mentioned before , spiritual fulfilment for me, was when I reached a 'stable' level of contentment with life's flow, understanding and accepting the impermanent nature of 'all' phenomena (including my "self")...

On an intellectual level, many people understand that the universe is a constant state of flux, but for the most part they only touch the surface level of understanding, failing to 'fully' grasp that they too (being part of this universe) are also in a state of flux -both the "psycho & physical" aspects of being, constantly changing never remaining the same(no fixed abode in the scheme of things)...

Understanding this, one can see how suffering arises when one attempts to cling to things (both the subjective and the physical) and not being prepared to let go....when change is inevitable ...

This is how I personally see life, others may have an entirely different outlook and if it brings them comfort, then I'm "happy" for them....

Can there ever be a totally 'happy' medium?  All puns intended.   This includes Zen puns, also.    As many as you can imagine.   Is water a happier medium when it is still or when it is rushing over a cliff?   Is alcohol a happier medium when it is acting as a solvent or acting as an intoxicant?  Is a medium happy when zoned in on depression in the universe or on joy?    :)  ;D  ::)  ;D

In my opinion, I think there's always room to grow spiritually.

I was raised in a rather relaxed catholic household because of my father. He came from a very small village in Mexico and immigrated here as a teen. Being poor he saw a lot of the abuse the church did in his village, so he grew distant from the institution, not the faith. I am trying to find something that fulfills that need. So, for now I am looking. :)
