The nurses told me not to shower before my catheter will be taken out. So i don't shower at all since before the surgery. It's been five days. I use only the saline to clean the vagina. Is that correct to do? I would like to shower but i think that it could damage the catheter.

As always we should do what our doctors say. Many have there own ways to do things.

As a Montreal girl i started back taking my shower 2x the day they took off my dressings. I still had the catheter in. That was day 4 after surgery. Dilations started day 5 and catheter out day 6.  They just did not want us to rub the area, just let the water run over it.

Anyway you are the one who is responsable for your care via doctors instructions.
