Hey I'm 20 mtf, Okay so I just started hormones back in December 27th
And my doctor only started me on estropipate a weaker form of estrogen 2 times a day to see how my body would react.
Two weeks ago he changed my medicine to estrace times a day and also prescribed me spironolactone twice a day.
At first I started having positive effects right off the bat trust me I noticed them. My body hair started growing less and slower and my skin got significantly softer.
Yesterday I shaved my arms legs and chest and today quite a lot of it grew back quick and more coarse too!!
I hope my body isn't rejecting my hormones now! Or maybe I'm imagining things
I come from a middle eastern back ground so my hair is really thick maybe it'll take some time for hair to thin a lot.
Ugh help.

Jade, it is unlikely your hair is growing faster.

My guess is that you used a used blade in your razor, which was not quite as sharp.  Believe it or not, it can be quite difficult to notice big body differences in the first two months.  For me, the main early effects of hormones were psychological, and noticeably softer skin.

I agree I think I'm just freaking out :'(
Do you think there will be significant changes by 6 months?

All of your hair grows in cycles so that about 1/4 of your follicles are dormant for a while with no hair, if you are on E when they come back to life, they will take on the female texture and growth pattern, so for you, it will be about a year before you are fully body haired in the right gender.  Exception to that as you have been told is the beard.  My female head hair is less coarse than my male hair, but I do have a lot of it, including some that may have thought it was time to quit just before I began the E.  Yeah, two months is a bit soon to get much going on, but be ready, its gonna be a doozy in a bit.  (I am closing in on 5 years and it still gives me some eye openers from time to time).  It is real easy to know your boobs are on the march though, THEY HURT when they first take off.   >:-)

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

That myth that cis women's hair grows in thicker and coarser after it's shaved comes from the same source - a fully grown hair is tapered at the tip and looks more slender because of that, whereas hair that's just starting to grow in is much thicker at the base than it would be along the full length if it finished growing. So it *looks* thicker and darker and coarser, but that's an optical illusion; if allowed to grow out completely, it'd be normal.

(And in some fairly short timeframe, you may start to see the hair thinning out and the hairs themselves getting finer.)
